uscc us cellular belief points rewards upgrade accelerator sgs3
Belief Points Rewards changing!

as of July 1st, it takes 1300 points to accelerate one month of eligibility...

Yea! Wait, what!? Grrrrr! News is filtering in of Device Upgrade Accelerators are going up in price. Stupid economy.... So, 300 more points per month to upgrade and that's only one reward... what about the others? No idea yet here, but we can probably venture a pretty safe guess that they'll be going up to.

Now, US Cellular argued that with the new Belief Plans you'd be getting more points but your renewal time would go to 22 months instead of 18 months. Now, that balanced out pretty well I thought... more time, more points given. Now we get a month later and hear, more time, more points given to you, but more points to use that accelerator. See the common word there? MORE. The MORE is in US Cellular's favor and not the customers the way I see it.

Well, on the other hand, I suppose it is to be expected. We did just see a first time announcement of a flagship device the same time as the Big 4. I'm truly excited about that and hope USCC keeps that up. However, that phone that I could get next month... now gets pushed back 3 months due to this 300 point/month increase.

Here's to hoping in 3 more months another 4G device comes out.... not sure what else other than maybe a Motorola? Anyways, what are your thoughts on the points increase? Should there be more warning so customers could plan better such as me? Let us know below!

Luckily I have 2 lines eligible for upgrade now and the other 2 are grandfathered at 18 months. At least according to my account details on the USCC website.

Well this messes up my plan..was ghoing to wait to preorder, so that in a month and a half I'd be able to upgrade 2 lines instead of one. Now, as it appears, if I don't accelerate a line before July 1, I'll essentially lose 600 points.

Guess I'll be preordering tonight.
Same old same old... USCC.acting more and more like the big boys, pricing and all. The rewards are about the only advantage they have anymore. There aren't winners anymore, you just have to choose the least sucky provider.

Haha, I don't even know how many "Belief points" I have. I don't really care right now. I know how the game is played -- they let people build them up and then they move the goal posts. Did Pepsi ever pay out that jet, or did they just cop out and replace the reward with cash?

(For those who don't know/remember, years ago you could collect Pepsi Points off bottles and cases, and the commercial advertised all kinds of cool prizes. But the top prize was a fighter jet, F-16 or something like that. Somebody collected the requisite points (bought a lot on eBay, I imagine) and tried to get the jet, and Pepsi was caught with their pants down; I think the jet was a joke, but it was in all the promotional materials. I never found out what happened with it.)
In my opinion, the belief points is quickly moving from a neat gimmick to an outright joke.

well at&t is lookung good again. I was going to add 2 lines and get a 3rd gs3 for myself with my points next month but now I have to wait. I even talked to customer service and she said to preorder and I would have enogh points in july. ughhhhhhh always something with uscc.
I really don't understand how uscellular can do this. The rewards points are for early upgrade. When you get to the point that you can upgrade early they change the point totals so it now costs more. The new plans also gain more points than the old plans so my points from the old plan are now pretty much worthless.

This completely sucks and I'm pissed. I switched from another company to get away from this bullpoop and it is all starting back up again poop who even cares it's not like any good phones are out to upgrade to any way

It was starting to look like they were doing things right for once. I understand some price hikes are required to keep up with the latest devices. However, they are simply screwing customers over now! It's getting worse every month! I'm guessing in august they'll announce upgrade fees or something...Any guesses on the perk reduction for September?!

This really irritates me. I'm not changing to the new plans. They're more expensive for me and I don't get as much. My plan will go up $10 a month, I'll get 500 less minutes, and have to switch both of my phones from 5GB to 2GB. Screw that. When my contract is up, I will be looking at other carriers. This is ridiculous. At least when I'm raped by AT&T I get a better phone out of it.

You could say so far this is only a rumor...
I smell iPhone!! Sprint started making a bunch of anti-consumer changes like delayng the upgrade eligibility date, and raising prices when they knew they were getting the iPhone. Plus, with USCC's new plans with less data, it seems as though they're protecting their network from saturation due to more devices. These were the reasons I left Sprint! If USCC starts making these changes, I will have no choice but to move to pre-paid! I will not go back to Verizon or Sprint, and I definitely will not move to AT&T.

Maybe they are getting bought! Someone over at Howard Forums claims ATT is going to buy them in the very near future.. of course that person is ignoring that deal would make 0 sense right now and wouldn't make any sense at all until VoLTE is common place, plus almost all of USCC's markets would have to be divested and the big GS3 deal and USCC's big investments in Quad Band LTE technology would all be pointless as well... yea... don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

You people that are complaining always want more. If somebody gave you a cool million, you would want more. The fact is, what other carrier does not have a contract after the first one? What other carrier gives you some type of option for an early upgrade without having to buy out the contract? Which other carrier has better customer service?

Yes other carriers seem to get new techonology first, but it seems to me that USCC is trying to change that witht he GS3, but it seems none of you are seeing that. I have looked long and hard about switching to another carrier and every time I look, either the coverage isn't as good in my area or the monthly cost is more than USCC and I have to sign a 2 year contract.

Wether this is a rumor or true (and I have found a lot of this information to be true), IMHO, USCC is still the best company in my area. Verizon is a close second, but would cost me a little more and Customer Service sucks.

It is not about wanting more. It is about US Cellular TAKING. That is all they have been doing latley. Raising data dramatically, battery swap from 4/month to 4/year(excessive), 30 day trial to 15 days. 18 month upgrade to 22 months. Now this? WHERE DOES IT END?

I know the galaxy s3 is a big deal for USCC and I'm way happy about it, but just curious how that company C-Spire can pull off these phones with 1/6 of the customers as USCC it just confuses me lol

@weasel00 you may be right in what you are saying but as customers we have a right to complain whenever we feel the need to and now is the time to complain because it is total bullpoop what is going on with uscc. Iron would make sense if they were offering great devices but there not. Sure the s3 is going to be a good device but it's only one where is the rest of them at?
