US Cellular Shared Data Prices - LEAKED!

Well, not only did we just hear them announced but we can now officially start with prices! Thanks to our anonymous sources, here we go!

Here it is! And by my quick comparisons, EXACTLY like Verizon. However, it looked like Verizon only let me add 5 devices to a shared plan.

Also, there are new Reward Points over on Verizon. As the screenshot says - ALL plans include Unlimited Voice and Texts now too. :)

Here's the MRC's (monthly recurring charge) I talked about:

You MUST add at least one device to have a Shared Plan. I reported wrong earlier thinking this meant you needed to add an extra device. Instead, this was the most redundant line I have EVER seen in a US Cellular document. Of course you have to add a device to have a plan. Thanks for the reminder USCC!

And finally....

Shared Data Only! You can take advantage of these prices on your hot spots, tablets, and modems with no need for a voice plan. This actually looks very tempting for an internet option if you only use it once and awhile or on the go. I like it but who am I to say.

What do you think? It seems like sources were correct with it looking exactly like Verizon. However, I still enjoy that we can add 10 devices now. Also, the reward points. I know many are losing faith in that but I think US Cellular is working to find rewards that will ACTUALLY be used - including the option to now use points as partial credits. Anyways, will you switch to any of these? Let's hear it!

I'll probably switch. Unlimited minutes is a plus for my family. And the fact that we'd share 6GB and I could use the majority of it lol... It'd still cost me $35 more a month though... Not liking that too much. BTW Adam, you can have 10 devices on VZ Share Everything. These are a direct copy of VZ's current plans.

Wow...for a new customer I see no point in going with USCC over Verizon.  To charge the exact same prices as Verizon with no where near the same network coverage and phone choice is crazy. As a new customer I could go to Verizon and get a 22% discount through my wifes employer, or no discount with USCC.  Why would anyone go with US Cellular over Verizon at this point?

Some of live in US Cellular only zones. We have no choice. And unlocked bootloaders (: So even though I'm forced to have USCC I'd take it over Verizon for bootloader reasons.

is the device connection charge per device or per account / device type?  If that's per device, that 10 GB plan becomes 180 if you have two lines on it (100 for the data + 40 for line # 1 + 40 for line # 2)

Per device, I assume.

No savings on this one for me. I don't need unlimited minutes when we barely use 200 peak anyway. Also, I think I will find myself opening up a fourth line on my account to be able to get the X Phone since my S3 is broken. This will enable me to get yearly phone upgrades and still pay less.

Comparing a few different options quick, these don't appear to be any significant savings compared to current USCC plans (+/- $5-$10 per month on the three or four options I looked at), are the same as Verizon, and more than what I'm paying with original BP. Certainly won't be changing to this.

I have 6 lines mine with the old 5gb, and 3 more with the 2gb plan plus 2 dumbphones. I pay around 250-260 a month after taxes. If i switch to this I'd be looking at ~320 before taxes. Approximately 70-80 dollars more a month; sooo I guess ill keep what I have! haha

Oh, and it appears they're cutting the number of Reward Points for similar plans, while at the same time increasing the cost of reward points for upgrades, etc (current short-term promotion not withstanding).

wow.. these plans are terrible.. My wife and i are still on the 30 & 40 dollar plans for 5 GB...  So, now instead of 70.. we're looking at 120 for the same amount of data (a combine 10 GB).  This is crazy bad.

I guess with a single line this doesn't really affect me. But based upon the service I have and price I pay I'll have to carrier shop when my contract is up. But that's not till next year, and they will need better android phones or more options.

glad we moved to the unlimited data before we it ended. we pay about $370 a month for 5 lines with unlimited data, voice and text.

So it appears that having a "shared data" plan for my family would cost more than our current plan -- which has MORE data included anyway (I'm on the 5GB plan).

Another bonehead decision by US Cellular. Guess I'll stay on my old plan until we finally give up or they sell out to Sprint or Verizon or whomever.

I think that unlimited data that just ended is only for two years then you have to choose one of their new plans

Am I reading this right? So if have two smartphones on my plan and wanted to switch to this... If I went with the 2gb plan, I'd pay $60/month for the data then pay $40 per for each phone? For a total of $140/month?

That includes unlimited minutes? Texts?

Yes.

And yes, unlimited minutes/texts/pics.

Any word on how "partner employee discounts" apply to the new rates?  Do such discounts only apply to the monthly access fee, or do they apply to the monthly access and data plan?

I'm not sure what U.S. Cellular has planned.  Verizon offers the employee discount on just the data charge.  I'm sure U.S. Cellular will do the same thing since they seem to be exactly copying the Verizon shared data plans.

Discount is only off the data. No discount on device connection charge. Epic fail.
