Here is some news you HTC fans will like to hear . If you have longed to switch to Android but was waiting because you really wanted a powerful device from US Cellular that was equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard .. your wait may be over !

From the rumor mill , here is the HTC Merge !

Rumored to be headed to US Cellular sometime before June 2011 . The HTC Merge sports a ARM7 800Mhz processor , and before you start to bash the device for only having 800 Mhz scroll down and check out the photo of the benchmark results . The new processor saves battery and provides higher benchmarks than the HTC Desire running at 1Ghz !

The Merge will also sport android 2.2 with sense 2.0 . When i receive more information on the device i will be sure to update you guys !

I was informed by a trustworthy informant that US Cellular will be getting up to 9 new devices in roughly the next six months !

Be on the lookout for a full touchscreen Blackberry Device (Storm?) , several new Android phones , and at least one WinMo 7 device to be released from US Cellular .

also , I was informed to expect to see one android os update per device from here on out. For example: if it launches with froyo it WILL be upgraded to gingerbread and so forth .

This is great news for those still wanting to upgrade to a new device and has been holding out . Its also great news for those current customers that have saved up enough Belief Points to upgrade early !

Lookout Mobile has traced down a Trojan that affects you guys ! The Trojan is repackaged in android apps that are pirated or edited , most notably RoboDefense ! (but not limited to just RoboDefense).

Apps in the Android Market are safe , but if you install pirated app (which we frown upon here) you could be at risk . Once again showing why you shouldnt steal apps .

Here is the official word from Lookout Mobile:

The Threat:

On the heels of the
Geinimi Trojan
, Lookout has discovered a new Android Trojan that is repackaged in popular Android apps and distributed through app markets and forums serving Chinese-speaking users.  Called HongTouTou (also known as ADRD trojan), this malware requests additional user permissions and appears to be executing a set of search-related activities in the background (unknown to the user) including emulating keyword searches and clicks on specific search results...
