Three major updates we've ALL been waiting for, right? Well, GOOD NEWS!!! And.............. oh, you already guessed, BAD NEWS!!!!! Read below for more:

Galaxy S II

December 19th - update will drop.

Galaxy S III

(hide your children, hide your wife)

Update now has been put on hold due to an issue with mobile TV..........

Galaxy Note II

Update is ready but no time or date for drop.

So, there you have it. Especially you Galaxy S II owners should be pretty happy here as you seem to be the only winners, for once. Galaxy S III owners I can hear the riot starting now. Anyone have a bomb shelter the TUSCC Admins can come to? And how about Galaxy Note II owners? What do you think - it's ready, why isn't it released? Post thoughts about all 3 devices below and maybe some guesses on when the last 2 updates will drop.

I know the mention of iPhone is practically flame bait, but at least iOS users don't have to wait for the carriers to "approve" updates which have been available for 3 months.

Who cares about mobile TV...God damn USC...I don't even know what it is!

You guys weren't kidding that USC is terrible with updates, coming from a former VZW and AT&T user.  CM10.1 will be available in a few days for our devices (according to Mr Cyanogen).  So USC will release the official TW 4.2 in about 9 months...I'm guessing that window may be too small.

I certainly hope no one complains to our lovely admins, I get complaints a bit being a sales rep. I'm wandering when the Electrify M will receive JB since the Razr M has it already. I'm anxiously awaiting project butter and google now. I've demo'd a Note 2 and can't tell if it's so much smoother due to quad core or JB, but realistically I think it's both.

Just a guess but I bet another high end JB phone is upcoming (Razr HD/One X+ variants I hope) before USCC pushes JB to other phones.

So GS2 users will be getting ICS in time for Christmas (will make my wife happy since I just got her one almost 2 weeks ago). But us GS3 users have to wait on JB because of a USCellular bloatware app that was not even on the phone when we originally got it back in June?

I think this is dumb. It would be better to just push the update then later on fix that ridiculous app. What is USC thinking?

I'm sorry, but US Cellular is really trying to lose me as a customer.  I just don't understand their inability to do things right.

Another stupid move by a company trying to be big, just to knock itself back on the ground. You may as well just stop trying to compete and become the bottom rung again!!

Seriously, what in the heck is Mobile TV? No one cares about that and no one will use it just like no one uses 98% of the bloatware. Samsung needs to just come in and release the updates themselves because if you're relying on the company it's gonna turn your fans away. US Cellular is known to screw up things like this. It's disgusting.

Is the mobile TV a JB thing or purely a USCC bloatware app as mentioned above?

Yes, it's bloatware.  ...Well, of sorts.  I think they're trying to get into residential fiber internet/TV at some point in the future and I believe this is just one piece of that puzzle.

RIGHT!?  That's exactly what I said when I heard the reason for the delay.  Why not DO the update, then a patch with the app later!? They did that when we jumped from LG4 to LI4 - all that did was introduce Google Wallet and 30 other BS apps that always plagued their lineup.

Idk what it is, that was among the very first 38 (true number) apps I always uninstalled with TB upon it's arrival.  I'll do the same with JB and it's associated bloatware.  It's like...We have the Android Market, if I wanted even half of this BS I'd get it from the market, and I do.  But the *included* 38 apps are not in my list of "must have", and never will be.  I can honestly say that in my very lengthy relationship with USC, I've used ONE of their bloat apps, ONE!  That one was "My Contacts Backup" - which was a must before smartphones.

I keep telling myself that I will be a good boy and not do a custom rom but they are forcing my hand.  I guess I will have to do some research and figure out how that works and which one to get.

USCC just responded to my tweet:

@USCellular Is it true that the 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy SIII is on hold because of your/you're MobileTV app?  Very disappointed if true

@woodardhsd No. We'll be sure to announce when this update may become available. Stay tuned. What features are you looking forward to? ^EH
