New Samsung Galaxy?

Can anyone guess this device? It's bigger than a Note 2 and definitely not the Samsung S4 Mini. Did you guess:

Samsung Galaxy Mega

We had a tip over the weekend that this device was showing up in the system before the blackout. It appears to be a GSM phone currently as well as on the AT&T network. There also appears to be two different sizes and storage options. This is what I could find, but keep in mind these are GSM specs:

  • 5.8" or 6.3" display
  • 8 GB/16 GB option
  • 8 MP rear camera, 1.9 MP front
  • Android 4.2.2
  • Dual Core, 1.7 GHz

Not much of a difference from the Note 2 other than screen real estate and the S4 actually beats it on specs other than screen size. Our opinion is that they should pass on this device and save the money for that Moto X Phone or something nicer closer to Christmas time. This device just does not offer any advantage over what they currently offer.

What do you think? Do you even believe in this tip? Would you purchase it or just opt for the S4? Let us know below!

Yeah...USCC needs to save their one wants this.  It's like a Note but bigger and not as good in specs in any way, shape or form...and it's cheaper.  I can't believe they're wasting money on this thing...hope it doesn't bite them in the ass.

this is only a mid-level phone with a monster screen.

dual core Snapdragon 400 - wow.. not a very good cpu,,

its only 720p also so at that screen size things are pretty big.

per engadget review

"As much as we'd like to see the specs rival those found on the Galaxy S 4, Samsung didn't craft the Mega with the high-end buyer or power user in mind"

it's too bad its a mid level phone, as much as I LOVE the big screen I wont be giving up my Note 2 for it.
