  2. Firewall to block network access for apps

Have you looked into Tasker? Might be root only Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  4. Hello friends. I just wanted to talk about no root firewall apps that can basically be used to block cell network access as well as wifi access to other android apps based on your setting preferences. Currently I am using NoRoot Firewall made by Grey Shirts. It creates a VPN on your device and gives you the choice to either allow or deny any kind of internet access to pretty much anything on your device that would request access to said networks very easily. The app is very old and hasn't been updated in a LONG time. It used to work perfectly when I was on Nougat but I recently updated to Oreo and since I have done this, the app seems to crash at times but not too often. What I am wondering is if anyone knows of a more recent app of this nature that works good in Oreo? I looked at others in the play store that didn't really seem like I would like them as much but I know that even though this forum has slowed quite dramatically there are still some great minds with great ideas that come around sometimes here and I would love your input[emoji106] Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  7. You don't have to switch the SIM cards, but they will need the SIM card ID number along with the IMEI. The SIM number is printed on the card, and also (on Android at least) found in the About Phone section near the IMEI. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

  9. *228 to activate a second (backup) iPhone

You will still have to call and have it re-enabled on the account. They may or may not still have the IMEI number on file, so be prepared to provide it again.
  10. OK thanks. Sorry for the additional question but these two phones already have separate Sim cards installed. The one I'd like to put back on line was being used up until a week ago. I needed to put in a new battery so my wife got another iPhone 5,this one being a 5s,from her sister. She brought it to a US cellular store and had it activated. She thought she would just keep using it but she says the speaker is bad AND there was stuff like music and pintrest that didn't get moved over so she wants the old one back. I changed the battery and it works fine. Does the fact that they have separate Sims matter? Thank you. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. I have the same issue on my 6p and xl2, need to force switch off t mobile often. It's fine with me, I still have better coverage and reliability even with some manual tweaking There are plenty of leaks on the xl3, I'd say they're reliable. Personally I just picked up the pixel xl2 a few weeks ago because the 3 didn't look shockingly better, and I got $250 off on project fi. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. You have to call US Cellular or go in to a store to provide them with the device's IMEI/MEID first, you can't just swap the SIM and do *228. They have to register the IMEI on their system along with the SIM ID number before a *228 will work.
  13. Is there anything else I need to do to get a backup iphone activated. My wife has two iPhone 5's. One is a plain and one is a 5s.. She wants to deactivate the 5s and put the 5 back on. Both are us cellular phones. Thanks Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. I had to guess I'd say it's an agreement "clause" that fi uses t-mobile as a "go-to". After my previous post I went to the fi switch app and forced us cellular and got 3 of 5 bars Immediately. Prior to switching, as is often the case when I'm home, the strength meter was searching for a signal. This is about my only beef with Google fi. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. Mine seems to behave the same way as well. Unless I force it to US cellular it wants to stay on t-mobile, which is weak in my area also.
  16. She will be switching to Google fi. The plan and price will be much better. In my area I really don't see a huge difference in coverage. Fi is a little better because I can force switch carriers. If I don't force switch the phone is generally not on the strongest signal at home. As I type this I have no signal at all so I bet it's on T mobile. I'll switch to US cellular and get back to LTE Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  17. I haven't heard anything more than some of the published reviews. Maybe when the 3 comes out, the 2's will come down in price a bit..... I'm happy with my 2xl, and my wife appears to be happy with her 2. I was disappointed though that Google was offering discounts(aka promo's) for the 2xl but not the basic 2. She absolutely did not want a 2xl even though I could get it for the same price as a basic 2. Is your wife going to join you on fi, or she going to stay with her current carrier.
  18. I have a pixel 2 on Google fi and am very happy with it. My wife has an old iPhone that will soon be replaced. I'm curious if I should wait for the Pixel 3? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  19. Have you tried an app called fiswitch? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. cant get a nat type 2 on ps4

Sorry the forums have been real dead lately. But I will try to help. First of all I/We will need to know which router you have. Name and model of router.
  21. im using the router that i got from us cellular and when i test my connetion on my ps4 im getting nat type 3 how can i get a nat type 2 connection with my ps4
  22. Used phone choices up to $200?

I have an S7(std NOT edge) we are no longer using since changing to Project FI..... would be interested in selling for a reasonable offer.
  23. HD Calling (VoLTE) with google pixel XL

EDIT: I found the IMEI and still didn't work. But my uscc variant S7 Edge IMEI didn't either, so I think that form is bunk. Both phones have been on uscc for a year and a half. Pixel XL issues are still no HD Voice and sms pics looks like crap. Well weird, that page on desktop shows pixel and pixel xl, but mobile only shows pixel 2s and nexus phones. Also, says our google variant pixel xl MEID is not compatible. No HD Voice option in settings still. Guess we're out of luck.
  24. HD Calling (VoLTE) with google pixel XL

Have you activated the phone as a pixel xl? I did as a nexus 6p. If you click compatible devices on https://www.uscellular.com/bring-your-own-device/ it now lists the pixel, xl, 2, etc. as compatible so I might have to call uscc back with actual device. OR, it just may not work still.
  25. Used phone choices up to $200?

For what it's worth my wife had 3 moto g phones, they each lasted a year before they had major issues that I couldn't fix (internal battery failure, constant camera crashes, 30 minute boot time). I worn touch them again, but I'll sell you one for cheap if you're interested! I recently purchases a new old stock pixel for my wife, they're selling for $340 on Amazon.... 2 years old but still a great piece of hardware. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  26. Used phone choices up to $200?

We've got 5 phones on my unlimited plan - 2 Galaxy S7s and 3 S5s. The S5s are not doing so well, so we're looking for something better for not too much money. I do like the S7s are they're pretty fast, water resistant and look nice. I've also been tempted to try an LG G5 or G6? Are they OK? I've heard it's really hard to beat the reliability of Samsung, but am I missing a better opportunity? Any other phones I should consider (besides iPhone <- not doing that)? Advice please?!
  27. It was crazy good back in the day when you could flash a Rom almost every day of the week it seemed like. Well at least I don't need a charger everywhere like the isheeples do, and they really do. If you are on an iPhone right now I would suggest you find a charger because your phone is going dead[emoji106] Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  28. I'm still running android 7.1.1 by means of a package disabler I used to kill the system update processes because a root method was found for that version but the whole only charging to 80% has had me on the fence. Almost a year later and I am still not sure I want that to occur. My phone has been acting a little screwy lately so I was thinking it might just be time to take the update.
