That did it!! Thanks so much! It's so nice to have all my features back after Oreo. I like Oreo pretty well, but I didn't want to give up mobile data for it!!
  4. O DP2

i just found out the same thing, put http:// in front of what you have for mmsc and that fixes it
  5. O DP2

Well, check that. I have LTE with the above settings, but I don't have working MMS. I'm assuming you have MMS? Will Google produce a fix for this broken mobile data on USCC?

  7. COE credit is not automatic

Just curious what are the limitations to this. I have had my current phone now for four years and am still currently paying the subsidized price from when I got the phone or are you only eligible for this upon the time the device is paid off? Edit:nvm. for some reason Tapatalk doesn't take me to the first unread post even though it is set to. I see by the OP that I missed that boat. Oh well. It's good to know for the future Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

Thank you so much for this! I was at a loss after the Oreo update. Google was telling me to contact USCC. USCC says they don't officially support the Pixel so when the Oreo update breaks data, there's nothing they can do. This fixed it! Thanks!!

    Thanks, looking into that now

The latest Magisk does not require custom recovery to install and have root. You do have to have a stock boot.img and the ability to flash it through download mode or fastboot or whatever LG's version of that is. Google "Magisk 14.0" and check out the official XDA thread to see if it'll work for you Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

  12. Pictures slowly dissolving from gallery

Was hoping to update this thread saying the problem was fixed but unfortunately it has gotten worse. I bought a new Samsung evo plus 256gb SD card hoping to cure the problem but after a few months this one will randomly appear to erase all data on it. Pictures, music, videos, and documents. They do not show up on any gallery or music player and even root browser shows the SD card empty. Insert into laptop everything is still there. Usually just before this is going to happen all the pictures in the phone besides the first one will become a Grey picture with the white square with mountain outlines. I'm leaning towards the phone being the problem after a few SD cards and then now even a Samsung SD card unless anyone else has some more ideas. Of course the purchase for a new phone is never at the opportune time but if I have to do that I will just hope the problem doesn't follow Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk

Hehe...I run into that also. Find a no root option for something, get all excited and the find out it is only for a specific phone or it only works on wi-fi or something. I am looking around again for no root options for a few things right now and am starting to run int that again.[emoji16] Sent from my LGUS990 using Tapatalk

Bloat and ad block were my reasons for rooting initially as well way back when. I did mess with roms a couple times early on as well, but was never impressed enough to stay with any of them. I was perfectly happy with stock rooted. I had kinda forgot how long I actually had the G4 and never even considered that it might have been "updated" being that it always seemed kinda rare that we ever got much on that end. It wasn't until I had it in hand that I found out about Marshmallow. The V20 does sort of have root but only on specific models ad it's a tad sketchy it seems, but as usual, no root for us and best I can tell will never happen I am not a fan of Samsung and haven't actually looked into them at all. I had actually seriously considered the Nexus 6P but used ones are still going for way more than I am willing to pay for a used one, and no sd card kinda kills it for me anyway. My G3 is a bit more "quirky" that I remember it being but I can stay with it for now. I have more reading to do to see what is still available and rootable but their don't really seem to be a whole lot of good options anymore. [emoji52]
  19. Personally I would just assure myself root capabilities prior to purchase - but that's me. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to use it without adaway (or the like) - which requires root. Additionally, bloat. That was the reason I rooted to begin with back in the HTC Merge days. Bloat is a no-go on any device, if I didn't put it there, then they better let me remove it. Beyond that I could live without it. But until they stop forcing bloat and ads, I'll either not upgrade or stick to a line that I know full well will have root. Again, that's just me. 20. I have had rooted phones for so long I literally can't remember the last phone I had that wasn't rooted. Rcently my rooted LGG4 up and died on me. I went back to my G3 rooted and set about finding a replacement G4. Finally found one new for a great price. Sadly it has Marshmallow on it and it seems that pretty much every one I am going to find in good condition will already be "upgraded" as well. [emoji19] After many hours of searching it seems that not only is their really no proper root for Marshmallow in general, it also seems that their is no hope for it ever, at least for us cellular anyway. So here I am with a nice shiny new G4 with no root and I am scratching my head somthing fearce trying to decide what to do. Do I just stay on my G3 with root or set up the G4 and try to learn to live with stock? With the way things seem to be going with anroid in general, root seems to be getting less and less doable with every update. If I decide to try to live with a stock phone, do I stay with the G4, which I did like but liked MUCH better with root, or do I break down and buy a actual new phone....most likely the V20....since I will probably never be able to root again anyway, and hand the G4 down to a family member for a bit of a upgrade. For those that went back to stock phones after root, what did you do to adjust. How did you learn to live with stock more ad block, no more Titanium backup, no more "usability" tweaks....I am freaking out a bit LOL. [emoji16] What to do... Sent from my LGUS990 using Tapatalk

  22. ROM Help

I wish you luck, bud. There is very little development going on for the USCC Note 4, or just Note 4s in general. Lineage OS (formerly Cyanogenmod) doesn't even officially support any Note 4 variant at all! And they are still making nightlies for the Galaxy S2! And since most non-TouchWiz ROMs are based on Lineage (CM), pickings are even slimmer for custom ROMs. I hope someday you can finally get it fixed up how you want it
  23. ROM Help

Well, gapps didn't help and the alpha ROM doesn't have more issues than the other five ROM's I've tried. At least the issues are consistent: no WiFi, security settings cause settings to crash. At this point, I just need to figure out which problematic ROM I like best. The SlimROM is small so I may go with that, but I've gotten used to this AICP ROM at this point. I need to get WoundTights deknoxed stock ROM, I think that's probably going to be the only one without issues....unfortunately its stock which means it will attempt to resist everything I do with it. 26. ROM Help

That will definitely fix your problems. Also, bear in mind that the SlimROM alpha you're downloading is an alpha for a three year old niche Samsung phone, and is likely to have many bugs as it is an alpha build Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  27. ROM Help

Well, I'm taking that under advisement. I'm currently downloading SlimROM alpha official, and once it downloads I'm going to also download the gapps package recommended for it. In the past, I ignored gapps because I used Blackmart as my play store, but that was a long time ago and everything has changed. I use Google apps now so I'm going to find out. Hopefully, that will fix the issues I've been experiencing. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. Sent from my trlteusc using Tapatalk
