  1. Argee with what had been said, IS IT MY DAMN PHONE OR NOT? Most phones have gotten better with their capacity and there has appeared to be a little less bloat ware as time has progressed. For $500/$600 there should be bootloader unlock mechanism.
  2. Just wondering if anyone has had success in rooting the US Cellular us996 phone yet?
  3. Thanks guys Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
  4. I started getting a Motorola update notice yesterday. Without thinking I started to install the update but began to wonder if this would mess up my root. I cancelled it but every time I rebooted it would begin to install again. I went to recovery and restored an earlier copy (knocked out xposed, for now anyway). My main question is should I consider installing the update, I have shut off the notification for now? Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for your guys thoughts. BorNX, thought you may have had but I tried again and waited for 10 minutes twice and either it stayed on the moto logo or it started with the moto logo and then the screen went blank. Had someone else suggest SuperSu 2.62-3 and that seemed to be the ticket. I verified with root checker that I am rooted. Thanks for your guys thoughts and help.
  6. Okay, tried again and had no trouble with TWRP, did a nandroid back up, then flashed SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141. As it went to reboot, it went through the bootloader unlock screen and then got stuck again at the moto logo. Right now, I am flash the backup. Not sure what went wrong?
  7. Now I feel like I am not getting smarter, I believe the key combo is just basically 'power button + vol. down'
  8. On the twrp site it says "many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Googleto find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install". I am not sure what it means by "hold the key combo" and boot to TWRP
  9. Thank you, so far I have been able to restore the stock firmware and am proceeding from there.
  10. just a little addition, after a bit it goes to a blank screen
  11. Well I thought I got through everything okay, I was able to complete the last step and flash SuperSU and now when I reboot, I am stuck on the motorola (powered by android) boot screen. Not sure when I messed up.
  12. Thank you guys for your insights, I think I may go with the Moto X pure, BB has them for $300. Thoughts on a OS to flash? Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks rub, hiking mouse mentioned the moto x pure but I only see the moto G and E LTE on us cellular website? Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
  14. Well I moved too slow, US cellular had stopped carrying the G4, thoughts on the K8? Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
  15. I've been nursing an galaxy s4 for a while and having exploring my next move. I want to root the phone and continue to have an external sd card. As of right now, it appears that the LG4 may be the best option. Agree/disagree & thoughts?
