  2. I filled out the survey this morning. Honestly I don't expect to hear back from them. I'd just be happy to get the $34 final bill credit they've owed me for 6 months. One question asked why I left US Cellular; I responded that I didn't leave them, they left me. At the end it asked if I had anything to tell to USCC...boy did I give them an earful. Politely told them to go back to caring about the customer, quit trying to be like the big boys. Here's a screenshot of the "What could we have done?" question

We noticed that you or someone on your account recently either discontinued some of your services or stopped doing business with us all together. We’d like to understand why and get your feedback on how we can improve our services. Please understand this is not a sales call and is not intended to win back your business (though we’d love if you reconsidered). We simply want to know why you discontinued some services or stopped doing business with us and get your feedback so that we can continue to improve. Like really? US Cellular couldnt filter out the people they sold out to sprint? They want to know how they can win me back? Buy me a house in iowa, pay for me to move out there, oh yeah and find me a new job. Lol...what a bunch of rubes. Anyone else in the Chicago/St Louis market get one of these surveys?

  6. Oh I know...it's just the "moral" of the whole thing...the idea that they'd send a customer to collections in a heartbeat. But we're supposed to be patient and understanding... It would be fun to send them to collections, just for the heck of it. I did tweet them (@USCellular) with a link to this thread. Will see if I get any response.
  7. Yup...I'm in the same boat. Though in my case it's 'only' $34...but like you said, if the shoe was on the other foot, I'm sure it would be at collections by now. Not sure what to do...every time I've called, I've gotten the message that there is some absurd hold time to speak to CS, so I've just said forget it. The other night I called and it said their systems were down. I'm thinking of sending a letter to corporate...not that they care much.
  8. Not to rub it in but I picked up a Nokia 920 in a trade (on ATT)....love WP8! A lot of nice improvements over 7.xxx. I like WP8 for a lot of reasons Buelligan does...seems to be a real happy medium between ios and android. Nothing wrong with Android per se, just bored with it after using it for the last couple of years. WP8 is a nice fresh UI for me. I still have my Galaxy Note 10 tablet, so I kind of get the best of both as it were. It's definitely a great time to be a consumer, lots of good choices out there (ok, besides the obvious lack of choice for USCC customers!)

I've been trying to get ahold of customer service to get my $34 bill credit from my last statement (they keep sending me bills with a credit balance). I know, good luck in getting it from them. At least they aren't charging me...

  11. I'd be interested in hearing how the remaining USCC customers feel about this. Aside from the fact that life is too short to be bitter at overpaid CEO's, how do you feel about her bailing and going to make more money after taking away so many perks, the whole iphone debacle, selling out the Chicago/St Louis markets, etc? Granted I realize that she didn't sit down and say Ok, we're doing this. There's a board and oversights, etc. So yes I realize she's not the sole decision maker. But as the CEO, you're the supposed face of the company. So I guess my question to you USCC customers, is do you feel slighted after all these perks get pulled, and then she bolts for greener pastures? Personally it doesn't bother me too much, as I'm in the Chicago area and am now on ATT. But maybe we've just been numbed to the corporate greed and overpaid athletes and ceo's. (and like the rest of the above commenters, I wouldn't mind a slice of that pie!)
  12. From what I've heard foliage does affect it. One of our members (BB4TW) here lives in Nebraska, and he told me that his signal would drop during the summer months when the corn was in the fields, but as soon as harvest came it would jump back up. So while it's definitely possible that it's causing you're issue, it's too bad USCC won't do anything to help you out. But lately that seems to be the rule, not the exception.
  13. Wow...there's a lot arrogance and entitled attitudes in this thread. When you guys are done putting down people who choose something different than you, are you meeting up at the cave for a round of chest-pounding? Or are you going to stick around and hate on people who choose to be on different carriers? Or drive different cars? Eh, I guess it's easier to hate Apple than it is to hate us cellular for trying business models that simply may not have been sustainable (no contracts - people upgrading and leaving uscc to pay for a phone they aren't selling data on; early upgrades, etc) I always get a good laugh when people say "oh iPhones are so expensive..." No more on contract than an s4 or Note 2. Non-subsidized? Ever buy a Note 2 or S4 off contract? There really isn't a whole lot of difference. But anyway...now I'll be branded as an iSheep...and I'll just laugh. Because at the end of the day, use the phone that suits you best - whether that's Android, WP8, iOS, or BlackBerry 10.
