  1. data roaming deal

Last I was at the company store, they said the cap was up to 600MB, and that the company was experimenting with lifting the cap entirely on select accounts to see just how much additional usage it would incur. Maybe the cap will go away one of these days. No indication WHEN that might happen.
  2. Nougat is here!

My Nougat update didn't show up until earlier this month (October). Looks like they fixed a Bluetooth bug where I couldn't get audio to pass to a Bluetooth speaker or to the Uconnect system in my vehicle during the second and subsequent Bluetooth pairing. First pair after a reboot it worked fine, then not so much after that. Nougat seems to be working as expected.
  3. data roaming deal

As a follow-up on this thread: just took a trip to lower Michigan last month, and there was no LTE service found on my Moto X Pure Edition. Worked fine my wife's S7 she uses now. Calling USCC tech support, I was pushed to level 2 support. The guy I got was trying to tell me since I didn't buy the phone from them they couldn't do anything about it because they don't have all the necessary support files to program the Moto X PE for LTE roaming. Then I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for several minutes. Same tech came back on, but his supervisor was going to try to add something to the system to force LTE roaming services on my phone and to try rebooting in 20 minutes. Turned out the tweak worked, although it took longer than 20 minutes for whatever changes to propagate. The network name now shows "Extended" when receiving a roaming LTE signal rather than showing "US Cellular", which is fine with me. If you have problems receiving an LTE roaming signal with the Moto X PE (and maybe Z2 and X4?), it may be necessary to be persistent about getting whatever tweak applied to your account to get LTE roaming working properly...
  4. Unlimited on US Celluar

Should be $40/line with a subsidized phone or $20/line (monthly) for COE or installment plan payments. Employee partner discount only applies to the data allotment, not the connection charges.
  5. data roaming deal

My wife updated the PRL on her S3 before travelling to Orlando this week. Says she's seeing 4G roaming at the airport and resort there. My Moto X PE hasn't made a trip outside USCC territory yet to see what it will do.
  6. data roaming deal

NEWER iPhones should be fine. Not sure how far back older models will work.
  7. data roaming deal

You don't think the Moto X PE is capable of this (on the phone side)? It will talk to any carrier's network in North even acknowledged that a while back in this thread...
  8. data roaming deal

Bonus for T-Mo customers in the upper-midwest. <rant>Now if only they would enable such 4G roaming for *ALL* the phones USCC supports that are capable of talking to other networks' towers (such as the current Moto lines)...</rant> I did speak with a manager at the west Madison (WI) company store today about that situation. Doug was trying to tell me this could be because there is additional programming on the phone that may not be possible right now. Kind of felt I was being given an answer to get me out the door. I hope he takes my hint that maybe he could talk to his superiors up the chain to pass the word on customers want these additional phones to work on the 4G roaming service, although I'm not optimistic of that happening.
  9. Galaxy Note 7 Pre-Orders Begin Tomorrow 8/4/16

Looks like Note 7 sales may be delayed a bit due to battery issues:
  10. data roaming deal

If only the would enable this for all the phones capable of roaming to other systems. They tried to tell me my new Moto X Pure Edition was not a "world phone" before a recent trip to Canada and therefore would not work with their international roaming option. Buying a SIM card for a Canadian carrier says they were wrong about that...worked just fine while we were there (and cheaper). We will see if there is LTE coverage going through the Twin Cities today. Did not seem to be on the way out over a week ago...and that area is covered very well my Sprint 4G service.
  11. data roaming deal

Spent a couple days in Chicago this weekend, staying near O'Hare. No 4G service to be found on my (stock) S5.
  12. data roaming deal

Anyone seen 4G LTE roaming on an S5 so far? Or has it all been S6/iPhone 6 phones that have been able to get 4G roaming to work?
  13. data roaming deal

There is no way an S5 would get even a shred of a USCC tower signal anywhere in NJ or near NYC.
  14. data roaming deal

A point of optimism: there are some out there in the Android development community that report they have enabled various bands on their S5 phones (with Qualcomm processors. Not to say that we should all go out and root our phones, then rewrite the proper NV RAM bits...but if these phones really are all capable of all bands with certain bands disabled for certain models, USCC ought to be able to issue an update to enable band 25 on the S5/S4/S3 and make our existing phones work with the expanded LTE roaming territory. Time will tell...
  15. data roaming deal

Adrian reports on USCC's Facebook page: "I don't have an exact date as to when it will be available in these areas. Stay tuned here for more updates:" My coworker's remark suggesting to move to Verizon was conveniently removed (he chimed in with that on his own).
