  1. S5 Data Spikes

    No luck.
  2. S5 Data Spikes

    Thanks for the replies!
  3. S5 Data Spikes

It's not the auto play. That's off. And all the data used is foreground. Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
  4. S5 Data Spikes

Hi all. Been a bit since I've been here. Has anyone on the S5 noticed a significant data usage increase after switching to it? Like, 10x data increase? Previously, my data usage on that line was in the 0.2-0.5 GB range, on a S4. Directly after switching to the S5, we're at >2 GB, closer to 3 GB. Doing the same things! I looked at the obvious. Can't figure out for the life of me why the Facebook app is using 1.7 GB or more per month. Any suggestions? I really have a suspicion that the phone isn't using the data correctly, or something. Or maybe I'm crazy. USCC says everything is right. (did I expect anything else?) Also of note, there's others complaining on the USCC Facebook page about this same issue. Coincidence? Thanks. Feel free to call me crazy on my theory, but any advice or input would be awesome. Getting sick of paying them extra money!

  6. Cases

They are legit. I've dropped my old s3 numerous times in one of those with no damage. There's a lot of padding built into those things, and nice bumpers on the corners. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
  7. Cases

I had one one each of my s3's. Pretty cool case. Durable and not too big. Almost got one for my s4, but went with a slimmer style Spigen Neo Hybrid, since I didn't need the amount of protection the UAG offered. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.
  8. Unboxing of replacements (S4 for S3)

They tell a lot of people that.
  9. Unboxing of replacements (S4 for S3)

Yeah, worked like a charm. Thanks. While waiting for it all to go through, I inquired about the return process, and lack of label. He's going to send me one. Good enough for me.
  10. Unboxing of replacements (S4 for S3)

For real? I'm headed off to try it again.
  11. Unboxing of replacements (S4 for S3)

FYI, the flyer in the box said to call 800-578-5159 to activate my phone. No, that's only for "new" activations. Replacements need to call CS.
  12. Galaxy S3 pulled off shelves today

I just got my replacement in, and did some pics and comments while unboxing. I started another thread: Enjoy.
  13. Pictures of the unboxing that should answer some questions I've seen come up regarding replacement S4's for the S3's: Details: Official box is the replacement for my faulty S3, which is black in color. Generic looking box is the S4 they sold me for $100 (no contract) to do me right with the S2 no one would provide tech assistance on. This is white in color. (for reference) Everything is in the box you'd expect with a new phone, on the black S4. Used white S4 came without a manual, but with everything else. Supposedly, they want my bad S3 sent back in. However, there's no shipping label as you would expect. I'll probably call them when I have more free time and see how to handle it. After getting a $900 charge on my line for a warranty exchange, I don't want to go through that process of refund again... That's it. Add a question if you have any. Hope it helps.

  15. Galaxy S3 pulled off shelves today

Update on my experience: It took a couple of calls today, and a few hours of phone time (no problem as I had a 5 hr drive by myself and time to kill), but I was able to get my s3 swapped out for an s4 (no contract, and it's not "new") and I am getting another "used" s4 for $100 to replace the janky s2 my girlfriend is still using. No contract extensions. No upgrade date changes. Two s4's for $100, courtesy of Customer Relations. I'm as happy as I can be with USCC. I also had some phone time with the Tech Support department. I was transferred there after being told "I wasn't on the list." Learned some fun stuff from that guy. He straight up told me that since I was out of warranty, there wouldn't be a swap. Period. We also discussed how my original 12 month warranty expired mid October, the 15 day warranty on warranty replacement phones, and how since I'm about 25 days out of receiving that replacement, I'm out of luck on replacement. So he told me that my options were to pay for returning it for repair (which may or may not fix all the issues) or to file an insurance claim. Insurance claim brings up another tidbit. This guy claims that all s3's are unavailable to USCC. They have none right now to hand out. He implied that warranty replacements would have to be the s4. But the insurance company is a different entity, and they will replace your s3 with an s3. They are apparently handling the Samsung issue with a different approach. So beware on going that route. Not sure what would happen if you get one from the insurance company and it quits working.... We talked about the list, and he claims it's way closer to only 3500 affected phones max. I said I had heard it's currently at 4200, and could possible hit 100,000 (I think I read that, maybe I'm wrong). He claimed this was completely incorrect. So yeah, your mileage may vary on this issue. Good luck.
