  2. The King Has Returned

It's been a bit of a rough go for the past 34 months. I'm trying to put it all behind me and get back on my feet. I'm sorry for not staying in touch but I'm here now

  4. Project: FrankenNexus

Hey guys, So i got bored and decided I wanted to try expanding the storage capabilities of my N7. Using StickMount Pro, an OTG cable, a Western Digital 500GB HDD and some double sided tape, I mounted the HDD to a back case and viola... I now have a 516GB N7!!! In the near future I will attempt to add a 4-port USB hub... stay tuned! UPDATE: Well this started as a bored guy having fun and has evolved into an actual project. I've decided to scale back somewhat in an attempt to be more power friendly. On this attempt I scrapped the HDD (for obvious reasons). I modified the OTG cable and added a 4 port USB hub with a dongle for my mouse. The remaining 3 USB ports will be used for 2x mini USB card readers w/ 32GB micro SD cards and another dongle for my wireless keyboard. BTW the flip case makes a great mouse pad. UPDATE 12/29: Now that some of my X-Mas goodies have arrived I've added 2x mini USB readers and 2x SanDisk Mobile Ultra 32GB Class 10 micro SD cards. Stay tuned for more awesomeness as the rest of my goodies have yet to arrive... UPDATE: 01/10/13: This project has morphed a few times now but I finally have a configuration that works for me. I wanted to make this a project that anyone can do without all the soldering and modding that I see in other threads around the web. I originally wanted to make a case with the mods built in to it, but after some serious consideration, I decided that I wanted a much easier project ( I am quite lazy). The only real modification I made was to the USB OTG cable, but is not necessary to make this work. So here's some pics: Final Set-up: 4 Port USB hub 2x SanDisk Mobile Ultra 32GB Class 10 micro sd cards 2x SanDisk micro sd card readers Wireless Mouse w/dongle Wireless SixAxis game controller w/dongle Bluetooth Keyboard / Case - yes the keyboard is actually a case as well Auvio Expanding Bluetooth Speaker
  5. Those of you that have the S4 probably know what I'm talking about. Those that dont will have to wait until I'm home to take a pic of it. Anywho... the plastic thingy covering the camera lens on my S4 keeps getting clogged up with pocket lint and dust and now it's starting to pull away from the lens itself. After a call to 611 and a trip to a repair center the following solution was offered: 1. Start a Quick Ticket so it is in the system as an issue. 2. If the lens gets scratched come back and the device will be replaced. 3. Share this information so anyone having this issue can do the same and it becomes a known issue system wide. So if you notice this issue call 611 and ask to have it documented on a Quick Ticket. If your lens is already scratched, demand a replacement. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  8. U.S. Cellular Tweet Claims Windows Phone 8 Coming This Month U.S. Cellular teased earlier this year that it was preparing to launch its first Windows Phone 8 device, but the carrier didn't have any availability details to share at that time. Now it seems that a tweet from one of U.S. Cellular's official Twitter accounts may have finally shed a bit more light on its WP8 plans. In response to a question about when U.S. Cellular would be releasing some Windows Phone 8 hardware, the @USCellularCares account said that it will be "getting a WP8 sometime this month." In addition to staying quiet about its Windows Phone 8 release schedule, U.S. Cellular has remained tight-lipped about which WP8 product it will be offering. A recent leak may have ruined U.S. Cellular's surprise, though, as images of a USCC-branded Samsung ATIV Odyssey made their way online last month. While not quite official, we've seen U.S. Cellular launch hardware that was previously released on Verizon several times in the past, and so the ATIV Odyssey would make sense as a U.S. Cellular device. If USCC is indeed launching its WP8 device this month, it shouldn't be much longer before we get an official announcement. UPDATE: Our sources have confirmed July 11, 2013 as the official release date for the Samsung ATIV Odyssey.

  10. Using upgrade on line before leaving

I'll chime in since this happened to me recently. You can upgrade the line that's eligible and activate it on any Phone Number for your account. Being in Maine, which has had the TOPS system in place for a few months, you will have to sign a new 2 year agreement upon upgrading and/or switching to an unlimited 4G data plan.

  13. A Letter From Sprint to U.S. Cellular Customers Affected by the Recent Sale This letter explains: When Service Will Be Terminated How To Avoid Interruption Of Service How To Contact Sprint SUBJECT: IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE REGARDING YOUR U.S. CELLULAR ACCOUNT. June 24, 2013 Dear U.S. Cellular Customer, On May 16, 2013, U.S. Cellular sold certain assets to Sprint, including some customer accounts. Your account was included in the sale. We are committed to your business and would like to make your transition to Sprint as easy as possible. While your U.S. Cellular device will not work on the Sprint network, we have a wide portfolio of devices and plans to meet your needs. Please contact Sprint at soon as possible to learn about the exclusive offers available to U.S. Cellular customers to migrate to Sprint. You may reach Sprint by visiting your local Sprint store, going to sprint.com/uscellular or calling 800-216-7023. To find the nearest Sprint store, please refer to sprintstorelocator.com. The U.S. Cellular network in the Central Illinois area on which you are a customer will be shut down on November 30, 2013. For uninterrupted service, you must transition your wireless services. After November 30, 2013, your devices and services will no longer function, including 9-1-1, and your account(s) will be deactivated. In addition, the terms and provisions of your U.S. Cellular contract no longer apply, and you will not incur an Early Termination Fee. If you are no longer a U.S. Cellular customer, please disregard this notice. Starting in June 2013, Sprint and U.S. Cellular will begin the process of reducing a select number of U.S. Cellular towers and making other network modifications. These activities may impact your network coverage on the U.S. Cellular network ahead of shutdown. It's an exciting time of change and building at Sprint. We are in the process of implementing major technical enhancements to the Nationwide Sprint Network, designed to provide our customers a best-in-class wireless network with superior voice, data (CDMA and 4G LTE) and video services. We value your business and look forward to delivering your services on our Nationwide Sprint Network. Thank you for the opportunity to be your wireless provider. 14. Anyone else building CM and running into problems extracting proprietary blobs from jflteusc? Here's the issue I run into. Maybe someone has an idea how to fix it: ron427@ron427-VGC-JS160J:~/android/system/device/samsung/jflteusc$ ./extract-files.sh./../jf-common/extract-files.sh: 26: ./../jf-common/extract-files.sh: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting "done")
  15. Fingers crossed that it's not just another low end P.O.S. that takes up shelf space.
  16. Thinking of jumping ship...

I left VZW for USCC because of the terrible customer service, billing errors almost every month and their unwillingness to correct those errors. Unlike USCC, @ VZW the customer is almost never right.

  18. No. I was simply told that upgrading requires a new 2 year agreement and that I also had to pick a new plan. Something about not being able to assign a Belief Plan to a new contract as part of the new billing system. I wasn't happy, but new devices are like crack to me, so I just shut my mouth and bent over.I did switch to Unlimited 4G later that week and again had to sign a new contract. Oh and my wife signed up for the Partner Discount thing a week later and guess what? Another new contract. So 3 new 2 year agreements in 1 week just to get 1 device. Smh The belief plan brought me over and back to USC, now this. Did you jump to the S4 for all of this? Articles I'm reading are saying the phone isn't doing well which now they are delaying the Note 2 anf S3 updates. Oops other issues are coming outb of me. Sorry you had to extend but if its working for you, good. Its just sad that now USC is trying to keep up with the trendy world. I wonder what the new "My Account" maintainence will bring. Will that extend our contract too? I have to say... Other than the annoyance of 2 year agreements and having to pick a new plan : I'm still with the carrier that has the best call quality in my area. The device is AWESOME.My bill isn't outrageous. My wife is happy.Yes I did love the things that made USCC different from the rest but, change is a part of life. It is still much less expensive for me to stay with USCC.

Just for the line I upgraded as far as I understood it.
