  1. Oreo on V20?

I'll believe it when I see it, but: https://www.androidauthority.com/lg-g6-lg-g5-lg-v20-oreo-update-859628/
  2. drAPN_N

So got a message today that this drAPN_N updated on my phone. Anyone have a clue what it is? It shows up with all the pre-installed software like Amazon Underground. I see some oblique references to it on the internet, but nothing clearly describing what it is. Thanks.
  3. On my wife's Galaxy S7, for about the last week or so, she keeps getting this odd request about taking part in an "amazon rewards event" with a URL from "play.yourmobile.club" She is smart enough to know not to click on the offer, but it comes up every couple days. I tried googling these terms, and am only given sites that want to sell me software to remove it from a PC, very suspicious. I don't see any suspicious looking apps on her phone, so I'm thinking it might be something in Chrome I've had her install Firefox Focus, and I have asked here to keep an eye on her browsing behavior so we can figure out exactly what is triggering it. I'm tempted to have her factory refresh it, but since that is a PITA, If/when it happens again, we will try for a screen shot and will post it. I thought I would see if anyone here has run into this. Thanks, John.
  4. Get AppleCare?

Got my son a new iPhone 7 today. They wanted to sell me the device protection plan, and tried to explain how it worked with AppleCare. Just made it more confusing. I have had some less than great experiences with the USC Device Protection plan, so I normally turn it down, and I turned it down again for this. But I am considering getting AppleCare for it, since I have had good experiences with AppleCare in the past. Can anyone explain how they work together, if it is worth getting both, or if it is worth getting AppleCare. Thanks, John.
  5. Get AppleCare?

iR10, thanks for that, but it doesn't tell me the advantage of getting "device protection" from usc, or specifically "device Protection+" Even this page is confusing. The googling you recommend compares AppleCare+ to standard AppleCare So my casual research has found that device protection + would be $12 per month (so $360 for the 30 month term), plus $99 for major damage. Applecare+ would be $129, and $99 per replacement (can be done twice) for two years. The difference I saw was that the device protection+ plan includes theft replacement. Seems like Applecare+ is the more affordable option.
  6. May Software Update

Downloaded and installed a software update this evening. Besides security, anyone know of anything interesting in this build?
  7. LG V20

I have had mine for a while. I found it handy to get one of the pop sockets to help in the handling of the larger phone.
  8. Well this might be of interest. https://www.hackread.com/hacker-selling-126-million-us-cellular-customers-data/
  9. Well, the article says they are only asking $500 for the whole thing. We could take up a collection.
  10. Second Charger

This is my first USB-C phone, and I read all this stuff about bad cords/chargers destroying phones. What have people bought for a second charger/cord for their V20?
  11. Second Charger

Thanks for the resources. So it sounds like getting the right cable is key. Any advice on the power supply?
  12. Someone on their Facebook page asked about it. Got this response: We are aware of these claims and investigating them. We always take our customers’ privacy seriously, and your trust is very important to U.S. Cellular. ^Andria
  13. LG V20

Thanks, both of us appreciate it :-)
  14. LG V20

No worries. Took this long to notice. It will just be for like two people anyway :-)
  15. LG V20

Not sure why they never created a forum for the V20. I've had one since November 2016. No concerns, holds up well. Running the Quad audio feature does seem to hit the battery harder than I would prefer, but other than that it has remained solid in performance and features so far. FWIW, I'm running it stock, so I can't speak to how well it responds to different roms.
  16. Black Friday 2016

Too soon? Any hints on this year's Black Friday?
  17. LG V20

Looks like we are getting the LG V20: http://www.cnet.com/products/lg-v20/preview/
  18. LG V20

Got mine Monday. So far so good. You can blame USC on the updates as much as LG.
  19. LG V20

They had one at the AT&T store. Feels nice, not as unwieldy as the 6P. Got my local agent store setting one aside for me when they get them.
  20. LG V20

Early Ordering available on web site Terms for Current Customer renewal: $21.60 for 30 months comes to $648 (Cheaper than the Samsung GS7 which is 22.40 for 30 months comes to $672) Still want to hold it. I thought I wanted the original Nexus 6, until I held it and realized it was just too big for my comfort.
  21. LG V20

Anyone seen this in a store (not necessarily USCC store)?
  22. LG V20

Price not announced yet for USCC. According to Engadget, T-Mobile has it for $769, and AT&T has it for $830.
  23. G5 - Anyone Got One

OK, the Pixel is too $$$ for my blood. I'm coming from a LG G3. Couple LG G5 question for owners out there. How is the Battery life treating you? The 'ambient display', does it just show the time, or does it show any other notifications. Anyone using the 'smart cover' with the window to see the ambient display when closed?
  24. Available phones not sold by us cellular

Screen grab of my conversation with someone from USCC on Facebook:
  25. Available phones not sold by us cellular

I checked with USC on FB and they said they would NOT activate an unlocked G5.
