  1. New OTA update for Electrify M

I was rooted until 10 minutes ago and I didn't get a notification. I just RSD'd back to 4.1.2 and instantly after booting phone and entering my Google Log In I got a notice to update to .13. I did. Upon reboot I do not get a notificiation to update .14. I tried OTA update via settings and nothing.
  2. I have been running 4.1 for a while now and my battery life hasn't improved like I thought it would. I can't make it through a typical day without running out. I have read lots of threads about disabling this and that, etc. But I had an idea. Is there a way to disable mobile data when I turn off the screen? I could care less about getting facebook notifications, email notifications, or anything else relating to mobile data while I am not using the phone. If I want to see if I have anything new, I pick it up and turn it on. I believe the data is killing my battery while the screen is off. Today I turned mobile data off when I woke up and four hours later with no use I have 91% battery. The day before it was 67% after four hours. I will take a screen shot of the battery after today and one tomorrow leaving the mobile data on all day to test this theory. Does anyone know a way to accomplish this?
  3. Interesting Samsung CDMA Radio info

I have never rebooted after switching between 3G and LTE Or vise versa. Signal dbm improved significantly on 3G without rebooting.

What's the consensus? Call and get a ticket made to ensure I get included in a fix? or wait to see what fix is?
  5. Interesting Samsung CDMA Radio info

Thanks for the reply. Do you know the 4 bands?
  6. I am first of all upset at the terrible performance of my Galaxy S III's reception. Specifically it's radio. This is well documented in another post here and by the fact there is a rumor of Samsung replacing the phones. In the mean time I have been using my S III on CDMA only while at work and other areas where the data signal wasn't constant between CDMA and LTE. Band aid to a problem that should have been solved before releasing the phone. Today I started reading up on Samsung radio's because I have thought all along this is a hardware issue. The following articles are what I found and in my humble opinion, further my hypothesis. Back in December 2011, Samsung released the Galaxy Nexus under the guise of a Google phone. It was released on both GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile) and CDMA (Verizon/Sprint). The CDMA version was plagued with reception issues similar to the S III is having right now. I first found this article that explains in great detail why the radio in the Galaxy Nexus is inferior on CMDA. Read this, its a great explanation: http://mobilecentral...on_GSM_and_CDMA Then I found a forum post about how this specific radio plus Verizon's CDMA infrastructure equals problems. http://androidforums...zon-radios.html Not a objective post, but insightful none the less. Fast forward to now, We have S III users with no issues and others with major issues. My completely unscientific research and purely speculative opinion is: Samsung used the VIA Telecom CBP7.1 CDMA2000 baseband modem is some of the S III's and these are phones having problems. (Plausible but not probable). The baseband modem in the S III is another VIA Telecom and this one is having similar problems to the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. (More likely). I could be completely off base here because Samsung could have used a Qualcomm modem in the SCH-R530 US Cellular S III. But I still think there are issues on the backend that CDMA providers like US Cellular and Verizon need to work out on switching signals between 3G and 4G between tower and phone. I apologize for the rambling, but I am disgruntled at the performance of my S III, US Ceullar's LTE spectrum, and CDMA in general.
  7. I pre-ordered a Galaxy S III and I am on an original belief plan. I have had the original belief plan for more than 2 years. Am I still locked into a contract with US Cellular for 2 years because of the Galaxy S III? If I am not, can leave US Cellular without paying any penalties for the Galaxy S III?

I would be calling USCC @ 611 and complaining big time. They need to send you another phone under the manufacturers warranty. My brother was successful with this route and his new phone was better. Others on Facebook group have been successful calling 611 and following all the tech supports suggestions. When it doesn't help they will break down and send you another overnight for free. Give it a shot. Your phone shouldn't be that bad. They will require you to send in your old phone right away so ODIN, Unroot, etc so they don't deny the claim.

My experience is the same. Good signal and no data drops on CDMA only. I do remember reading on XDA forums that Verizon was providing new SIM cards for their customers with similar issues. Don't know if they still are. Someone else on the facebook S III group said customer crew called them and told them Samsung and Google were both working on a fix for issues. Hopefully soon. To find the facebook group, search: USCC: Samsung Galaxy SIII - 2 Customer Crew was last to know anything.... highly doubt anyone called them from CC. Check out the Facebook group, you can ask the OP there who called them. can't find the group or i would Adam, Better late than never right. Here is the link to the facebook group for USCC: https://www.facebook.com/groups/414483498587235/

    * Update... USCC is sending me a new S3 overnight for free. I'll report back with the comparison results. How did you get them to approve this out of curiosity? Are you outside your 15 day purchase window? Are they covering it on Manufacturers warranty? Just curious. Let us know what build (LG1, LG4) it arrives with. Thanks for posting this.

  13. How to tell if imei messed up?

I don't see a lot of the USCC people talking about backing up the IMEI, maybe I'm not looking hard enough. But it seems the Verizon guys are bricking their S III a lot more than us. This post is what I found regarding backing up your IMEI: http://rootzwiki.com...st-us-variants/
