  3. Oreo Updates

No it will not. For OTA's, you will need to flash back to BQL1 and take OTA's till Oreo hits your phone. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. Oreo Updates

It's petty simple. Just have to be on the BQL1 base firmware and flash oreo beta update zip in stock recovery. No root for oreo yet. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Oreo Updates

All U.S. carries are the same phone and model. Snapdragon. S8 - SM-G950U(carrier) SM-G950U1(sim unlocked, not bootloader unlocked. No unlocked bootliaders on U.S. variants). The S8+ is SM-G955U AND U1. If your model number is sm-g95*u or sm-g95*u1, then you can go ahead and follow the O.P. to get on oreo now. Pretty sure it works on Canadian variant as well (950w&955w). Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Oreo Beta program is on going. You can check it out here. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum%2Exda-developers%2Ecom%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D3700907&share_tid=3700907&share_fid=3793&share_type=t [OREO] Oreo Beta on ANY USA/Snapdragon S8/+! [12/28/17] As far as when we will get official OTA, and knowing Samsung... Probably after the S9 as S9+ are released. My guess but that's all. Just a guess. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. Roaming issue

I don't know much about LG but are you sure you have the model for the us cellular network? Maybe it's Verizon or Sprint out something. Which of is the case, you would have a similar issue. Did you buy the phone new or used? What's the model number? Start there. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. I would go here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-fulmics-rom-3-0-tweaks-hub-ota-v30b-t3304556/amp/ and ask your question. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. S8+ Root, anyone?

Unlocked? If you mean sim unlocked then they all are. The SM-G955U is the same device for all US carriers. They all have a locked bootloader. So this means, no custom recovery. There's root available over at xda. There are also thread for carrier switching. If you just got the device, I would suggest reading the root thread and the carrier switching thread to get an idea of how this device works. It's a little different than normal. Root is gained with an engineering bootloader, and that comes with a battery cap issue at 80%. The CSC (carrier specific bloat) is installed based on the sim card. The device is a bit different than the norm so I would read those threads to get a feel for it before i did anything with Odin. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. S8+ Root, anyone?

A new root version using modified system and Odin. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum%2Exda-developers%2Ecom%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D3693790&share_tid=3693790&share_fid=3793&share_type=t [ROOT][sNAPDRAGON S8+ALL CARRIERS] Using Odin Modified System Firmware-SamFAIL Method Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. S8+ Root, anyone?

They have a fix for that in the s8+ root thread on da. It's just a matter a build.prop edit if I recall. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
  15. It truly does only charge to 80% But after you get your kernel tweaked and set up and turn off most of the stuff you never use, you'll still get close to 2 days on a charge which works fine for me. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
