  1. Possible data roaming problem

Getting about 1.2 mbps down and 0.2 up, outside my building with full bars of 4g too. That seems slow for a 4g connection.
  2. Possible data roaming problem

What triggers a US Cellular phone to use roaming instead of the US Cellular towers, for data? At the location I work at, my US Cellular service bounces between no signal and 3 bars of 1x. Occasionally, I will see a bar or two of 3g or 4g, but it is usually 1x. Even when I do see the 3g/4g, it is painfully slow to use. I also have a Verizon work phone, and I usually have 3 bars of 4g on it. Is it normal for a US Cellular phone to stay on the 1x if a 4g roaming network is available? Thanks.
  3. I just had my Note 4 replaced after it was broken. Now, I cannot find the Download Manager App anywhere. I have a large download that I cannot kill. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
  4. Samsung Galaxy S6 vs LG G4

Which do you like better and why? I have read a lot of reviews that seem biased towards one company or another. I do like the idea of a removable battery and SD card, but the faster processer and battery that lasts longer may outweight those. What are your thoughts?
  5. On occasion, I have had to pull my battery, on my S4, to hard reset the phone. Is there any way to accomplish a hard reset on an s6, with the battery not being accessible? Also, does anyone know if the S6 Active has a removable battery or SD card? Thanks.
  6. Terrible battery life since latest update

I think that I installed it about a week ago. I tried clearing the cache for Google Play Services, and Google play, and also wiping the cache partition. I'm going to give it a few days. If that doesn't work, I will try the factory reset. Thanks for the help.
  7. Since I applied the latest update that my S4 notified me of, my battery life is terrible. It drains much faster than normal, even when not in use. Occasionally, there will now be an issue where the battery will drain 30-50 percent in an hour or so of not being used. Prior to installing this update, the #1 consumer of battery power would be Screen. Now, the #1 consumer is always Google Play Services, which typically consumes 60-70 percent. Screen is usually around 9%. Has anyone else experienced this or know of any ways to fix it?
  8. Apply 4.4.2 update or wait?

The biggest issue that I am having now is with Cheetah Sync. Sinc it sync my PC music library with the phone library, it will no longer work, since this app can only write to its own directory now. I guess I should have read the patch notes a little more carefully.
  9. Apply 4.4.2 update or wait?

I see some complaints about SD card-related issues after updating to Android 4.4. I primarily use the CD card for storing music and that is also where the camera writes the pictures to. I use an app called Cheetah Sync, which automatically syncs the music library from my PC to my S4. To get the pictures off of my phone, I use WiFi File Explorer Pro. I am wondering if updating will cause me a problem or if I should be safe given my more limited SD card use.
  10. Will this Nexus 7 work with US Cellular 4g?

That is actually what I am doing with my S4 and the 2012 Nexus 7. Works pretty well.
  11. https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_7_32GB_WiFi_Mobile_data_unlocked?id=nexus_7_32gb_2013_lte Also, do you have to pay the data fee per device, on US Cellular? I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with 4GB data plan, for $45 a month. Would it be another $45/month to add a Nexus 7 to the account?
  12. Very disappointed in US Cellular

The currently-offered 5gb plan includes tethering. I guess mine doesn't, since I've been a loyal customer for so long. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  13. Very disappointed in US Cellular

I know that there are lots of ways around the system, but I don't see how me tethering my Galaxy S4 to my Nexus 7 costs US Cellular any more money than me tethering my Electrify to my Nexus 7. $125/month for 1000 minutes and 5GB is ridiculous, as is moving to a lesser plan for the same price that I am paying now. US Cellular should be rewarding their longtime customers, not doing their best to run them off.
  14. I just picked up a Samsung Galaxy S4,to replace my original Motorola Electrify. When I went to activate the Wifi hotspot to stream to my tablet, I was prompted with a message saying that I had three days of free tethering, and a phone number to call. I have had a 5gb data plan for two years now, that runs me about $100/month. I have been using this plan to stream to my tablet, with no issues. I called 611 and the support representative told me that it was going to cost me $25 more per month than what I was already paying. Another $300 for nothing in return. What a great deal! I have been a loyal customer for over a decade. However, with my company discount putting a comparable AT&T plan around $70/month, maybe it is time to make the switch.
