  1. First off thank you to any and everyone putting in work on this site :-) Hello. I recently rooted and unlocked the bootloader on my friend's Electrify M (xt901). I originally put CM10.2 on it and it worked fine for a day. Day 2 in started tweaking and doo-doo hit the fan. I ended up flashing RAGE and it said the sim card wasn't usueable or something like that. I tried most the ROMS on this website and all had issue on this phone. I finally used RSD lite and flashed it back to factory. The phone will still not make phone calls!!! During setup it won't connect to network. For some weird reason the internet still works and has been working but no phone service. Any fix for this? I was thinking I may have fudged up the sim card possibly...? If I have my friend take his phone back to US Cellular to get a new sim card I'd like to relock the bootloder if possible. Any ideas if I can relock it? Is there an img I can flash with fastboot? Thank you for any help!!!!! Everyone have an excellent weekend!
  2. Quite simply: YOU CAN'T. SO STOP TRYING! WHY? because Samsung said so. You will soft brick if you try to downgrade from MJA to anything else! IF you are on MJA, it is PERMANENT. I repeat: if you are on the R530UVXUBMJA 4.3 Samsung TouchWiz "official" update, YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE You CAN, however, flash any AOSP ROM you want.
  3. Hey all. Enclosed in this post is the Motorola Electrify Stock 2.3.5 SBF file. "What does this do?" I hear you ask.. Well listen up and I will tell thee. This will revert your phone back to Stock. This will RELOCK your Bootloader if you have previously unlocked it. (IE it will no longer be Unlocked) It will also remove ROOT and restore all data on all the internal partitions including preinstall, osh, system, etc. It will NOT delete your Data partition, all your apps etc will be intact, but if they needed root access they will obviously lose that.. Now there are some things you must know: 1) It doesnt delete your Data partition, as I stated above - so if you had any apps giving you issues they will still do so. If you wanted to go back to full stock, try and do a Restore Factory first before flashing it so you know you are totally back at stock with no pesky apps giving you issues. 2) You will lose programming on the phone. So even tho it will boot, no data, phone calls, sms until you do a *228 to provision the phone. DO NOT DO *228 IF YOU ARE NOT ON A USCC NETWORK (you have been officially warned) This is handy if you mess up your phone and didnt make a backup of your stock rom (Silly you) or if you need to re-lock the bootloader for a warranty issue. THIS WILL LOCK BOOTLOADER PERMANENTLY! How to Flash: You will need RDSLite 5.5 or higher (you will find them in the unlocking bootloader thread HERE in the zip file) Power off your phone. Hold Volume up and power on until you see RSD Programming mode on your phone's screen Connect phone to USB cable. Put the 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.5-4.5.1A_SUN_USC_19.0-19-release-keys-signed-USC-US.sbf file into the filename area of RSDLite. Your phone will be shown in RSD Lite, select it and press start.. It took about 10 mins or so - so be patient. RSDLite will show success and your phone will reboot back to stock (notice no more unlock in the top left corner) That's it you are done! Now you can re-root, send to repair, whatever you want... Hope this helps for those who was afraid to flash due to no way of going back! Grab the SBF Here You will need to unrar it before using it. Uncompressed its over 2gb! compressed it down to near 1/2 gb! MD5 checksums are enclosed in the zip so you can check if they are OK too. Enjoy!
  4. Update bootloader?

Here's the deal: apparently my bootloader is out of date and will not allow me to flash the newest 4.2 roms. I tried flashing the MD4 modem from this site and it was a success. My phone reports MD4 as the baseband, but when I check via terminal (by typing "su" then "getprop ro.bootloader") it reports the bootloader as LK5. Anyone have any idea how to update this to MD4? Thanks! p.s. I tried searching and couldn't find any topics like this, so I apologize if it's already been answered somewhere!
  5. Unlocking the Motorola Electrify M's Bootloader Now, I know what were all thinking... YAY! UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER!!! Well, lets hold on a second. If you've never done this before do yourself a favor and CAREFULLY read the link provided by Motorola: Here ...Well, as exciting as this post started, it is now over. Be sure to CYA if you choose to do this and understand that your warranty (both physical and defect) are now void - so don't drop the darn thing while you're on the can! You will have to create a Motorola Account to sign in and download the tool used to unlock it. I will add it to the Downloads section as soon as it uploads.
  6. My previous phone was the original Motorola Electrify and I got burned (the fuse, literally) by the 2.3.5 OTA update. I couldn't unlock the bootloader after the update, so now I am always cautious about any update. Can anyone report on rooting and unlocking the bootloader on the Note II after performing the 4.1.2 (MB1) OTA update? I have currently used Exynos Abuse 1.4 to root the Note II. It seems that recent 4.1.2 updates have been patching the exploit on other affected phones. Can anyone report on this in US Cellular's model as well?
  7. Note: I have the 2.3.5 OTA update and have been searching for weeks for a solution. So I was snooping around on my electrify's files with root explorer and came across some files in the /sys/firmware/fuse folder that I was curious about. After some googling I found a guy on xda who posted some very nice information about locked bootloaders on the motorola atrix and dx2, there was also a mention of the photon and how the partitions are the same as the atrix but there is a signature error when you try to flash it. Anyway an idea dawned upon me today after rooting my dad's aviator. Some guy (idk who) said he had changed the build.prop data on his aviator so that apps such as playstore would recognize it as a gs mesmerize instead of an aviator. Maybe something similar could be done with the electrify to make it look like the atrix so that there isnt a signature failure when trying to flash oem unlock? I could be completely and utterly wrong but i think the concept may be sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated. here is the page on Bootloaders: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262266
