  1. The OTA update for Marshmallow occurred last week and I read up as much as possible before applying the update. After updating my phone, here is my quick review. Marshmallow (android 6.xx) is what the Moto G 2015 3rd gen was made for! Here are a couple of hints to the install. Backup your pictures, documents, and data to your hard drive. If you have any apps moved to your uSD card, uninstall them. Just moving them back to the phone does not seem to work as expected. Make sure your phone battery is at 100% and apply the Marshmallow update. After the phone is updated, let it settle down for a few minutes. Do some mundane tasks, then power-off the phone. If your uSD card in not a fast card, such as a class 10 or UHS-1 or faster, go buy one and replace your existing card with it. I have a 32 Gb SanDisk UHS-1 card. You can insert it into your phone now. Power-on your phone. After the phone fully boots-up, go to Settings, Storage, and select your SD card. In the upper right-hand corner is the three, vertical dot icon, press that and select format as internal. Return your screen to Home and power off, then power it back on. After the phone has fully booted-up, you can restore your data and reinstall your apps. At some point, you may get a message asking if it is ok to move apps and data to the external memory. Respond positively if that appears. With my phone it now automatically puts the pictures, media, and programs onto the external storage. And application updates occur automatically, no longer posting running out of memory messages. If you are a gamer, make sure you get a very fast and large uSD card. To restore or move data to or from my phone to pc, I use on the phone, WiFi File Explorer PRO. There are probably other apps that do the same. This is just the one I use. Once I restored my apps, those icons on my Home screens returned and are again usable. Btw, here are the Motorola release notes: https://motorola-mobility-en-in.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/108725 I hope you find this helpful.
  2. So the Lollipop update for my LG G3 came out today. I wasn't thinking and installed it over the air while my phone was rooted. It downloaded, restarted my device and now it won't go past the TeamWin Recovery mode. I can get it into fastboot mode but that is all. I thought I had some backups, but realized they were lost on my broken SD card beside me. Any ideas to fix this? Should the update be somewhere in my files? If not, I have the US99020a_24.kdz file on my computer..
  3. Some of us at XDA were wondering if you guys here with the NK1 Update have noticed any significant improvements in the camera with the NK1 update that released last month. I was also wondering if anyone here would be kind enough to make a video. I am hoping that the NK1 Update pushed to us cellular will make a significant upgrade compared to the previous version, so i could work on trying to port it over to other S5s on different carriers to alleviate the horrible camera focus issue. Edit: Could someone pleas provide the OTA update file, not the full NK1 MD5. Its hard to find the OTA update file anywhere online.
  4. I was curious if anyone had success at rooting the most recent update? (4.3) I believe it's the MJA update? I've seen a couple of things about CF-Root working, but I wanted to consult the brains first. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Good morning, I'm going to root my wife's electrify today ('cause it's turned into a big turd). I'm going to use these instructions to do so: http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/topic/1759-how-to-root-motorola-electrify-235-for-dummies-guide/ They seem pretty straightforward. However, after it's been rooted I want to do an updated to Jellybean. Her electrify is currently 2.3.5. Is there a "best" way to do this? I've search and I can't find instructions on this. Any link would be very much appreciated. Thanks, JBH
  6. About three days ago I discovered an over the air software update for my Samsung Galaxy S3, and installed it. Since then, I have noticed a new icon in my notification bar - an eye. The assumption is that it has something to do with the "Smart Stay" feature of the GS3 - a feature that I have not yet been able to determine if it works or not. However, I turned off the Smart Stay feature, and the "eyecon" remains on my screen. What's up with this? Can someone provide a definitive answer, because I'm not at all convinced of any of this. Thank you, Ed Payne
  7. Just wondering if Samsung will handle updates or if USCC will cripple the process and make us wait forever to jelly bean
