  1. Hey all! I have been through this website repeatedly, along with Xda, Howard, and Android sites looking for help. Even resorted to youtube. I know, pathetic.... So after three weeks of daily web crawling, I'm just going to post the problem. Galaxy Note 2, reads in computer in diag, cdma workshop will see and connect, dfs does as well. HOWEVER, device will not answer and fails when I try to unlock to flash it to PPC. No MEID with ##06# at all....I mean BLANK... odd.... I tried the root method, it rooted, however still cannot fix the issue. Flashed back to stock rom img. still nothing. I go to the system about phone status and then get this error com.android.phone stopped. he phone is not stolen, the IMEI from the back panel is not on any blacklist and shows clear from USCC. I need help badly. What I don't need is the sarcastic noob remarks to be given. I have been working with programming for years so I am not a beginner. If there is an actual thread with this issue, please post it so I can go there and not bother you guys with this. Regardless, thank you for helping me if you can. It is greatly appreciated.
  2. So the question is the title. But I was talking about this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809314 it works on the Verizon Galaxy S3, so why not our US Cellular one?
  3. Hello! I'm running WoundTight's unofficial RC9 of LiquidSmooth for my SIII. It is a beautiful rom, but one issue just developed: I have no data. Some notes: My WiFi is functional, as is my GPS.My IMEI is valid (not a bunch of zeroes).Airplane on/off does nothing.Reboot does nothing.I had a working 3G connection in Klamath Falls (Southern Oregon).I had a working 4G connection in Medford and Roseburg (Central Oregon).I have NO connection in Portland (Northern Oregon). This is where I am now.Trying to dial *228 won't work, as I have no mobile connection. The problem goes like this. I open the mobile networks option within Wireless & Networks. All three options (data enabled, data roaming, national data roaming) are enabled. My preferred network mode is LTE/CDMA/EvDo. My CDMA subscription is RUIM/SIM. I open the System select popup to change the CDMA roaming mode. It shows "Home only." I choose ANY option, which closes the popup. I click the button again to check, and it's back on "Home only." Simply put: I can't get away from home.
  4. Ok so im a noob to US cellular, but had a At&t S3 and many other phones and have done alot of rooting, custom roms, etc. installing, and never had this happen, I guess i'm trying to say the development for this phone isn't as high as the other bigger carriers. But I had multiple issues with several of the us cell roms for the s3 and last night i tried to put cm10 stable from the official website and afterwards now my phone only gets 4G lte, and the data works but when i go to send a message or call someone it doesn't work! When i go to mobile networks in more settings and switch to cdma only, i get the circle with the line through it only! As i know the 3G antenna or what not is the voice and texting part and the other antenna is the 4G lte one, so i think when i flashed either the cm10 or the k747 kernel one or the other screwed up that part of my phone? Has this happened to anyone else and if so could u find a solution? And yes i called us cell and they went through everything and said it must be hardware related, so idk if i have any other option but to send it in or do a warranty exchange. Please let me know if any of you have had this happen, I miss my phone and have never had this happen Thanks! Let me know if you need more info also!
  5. I am first of all upset at the terrible performance of my Galaxy S III's reception. Specifically it's radio. This is well documented in another post here and by the fact there is a rumor of Samsung replacing the phones. In the mean time I have been using my S III on CDMA only while at work and other areas where the data signal wasn't constant between CDMA and LTE. Band aid to a problem that should have been solved before releasing the phone. Today I started reading up on Samsung radio's because I have thought all along this is a hardware issue. The following articles are what I found and in my humble opinion, further my hypothesis. Back in December 2011, Samsung released the Galaxy Nexus under the guise of a Google phone. It was released on both GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile) and CDMA (Verizon/Sprint). The CDMA version was plagued with reception issues similar to the S III is having right now. I first found this article that explains in great detail why the radio in the Galaxy Nexus is inferior on CMDA. Read this, its a great explanation: http://mobilecentral...on_GSM_and_CDMA Then I found a forum post about how this specific radio plus Verizon's CDMA infrastructure equals problems. http://androidforums...zon-radios.html Not a objective post, but insightful none the less. Fast forward to now, We have S III users with no issues and others with major issues. My completely unscientific research and purely speculative opinion is: Samsung used the VIA Telecom CBP7.1 CDMA2000 baseband modem is some of the S III's and these are phones having problems. (Plausible but not probable). The baseband modem in the S III is another VIA Telecom and this one is having similar problems to the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. (More likely). I could be completely off base here because Samsung could have used a Qualcomm modem in the SCH-R530 US Cellular S III. But I still think there are issues on the backend that CDMA providers like US Cellular and Verizon need to work out on switching signals between 3G and 4G between tower and phone. I apologize for the rambling, but I am disgruntled at the performance of my S III, US Ceullar's LTE spectrum, and CDMA in general.
  6. I made a splash screen based off of my wallpaper/logo design. Feel free to use and share it. If you need instructions on how to update the splashscreen on your device, follow the ones in the first post of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956434 Be sure to give "Thanks" to the O.P. in that thread if you do use it.
