nicholas9543 posted a topic in Galaxy S5 ROMs Q&A/DiscussionTitle says it all. I'm running 4.4.2 I just made an attempt to update to lolipop (while rooted) but says "Failed" during install. Now I have supersu that turns into a black screen. Can someone help me get out of this predicament?
JonnyJacot posted a topic in Galaxy S5 ROMs/Kernels/ModsHello all, I got the OTA update for my s5 today and stupidly updated to the "newest" 4.4.2. With this towelroot will not work because of the kernal (being to new) BUT I have found a solution and with your guys help we can get root back via towelroot. I was reading on XDA on people using this method and sadly US cellular doesn't get much love on there so I figured if i brought it here we could get something done. Here's the thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-triggering-knox-2nd-method-t2843044/post55377594 Pretty much we just need downloads for the old kernal and the new kernal according to this. I am wayyyyy to big of a rookie to even try to get the files so I figured someone else might throw in some help? Thanks guys.
I got a little crazy and rooted prior to thinking too carefully about it. Eventually I'll be going with a ROM once they're working a little better. I'd like to get the USC updates but I cannot do that directly on the s5 with my device rooted. Knox is the problem I believe - I am getting the modified error when going to "Software Update" in menu. Is Knox cracked at this point? Can we just download the updates from the USC website and install that way? Any help?
proto13 posted a topic in Galaxy S5 DiscussionJust as the title says, every 3-5 seconds I get a popup message saying "connected to Wi-Fi network". This is my work phone so everything is completely stock (the county prefers I don’t root it & have "fun" with this phone). I may be wrong but the popups seem to appear more regularly on certain networks, although I've never had an issue with these networks on other devices/phones. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or knows what may be causing it or better yet, have a solution to keep the popups from happening. Thanks in advance.
