  2. TWRP

Anyone figure out how to install a working TWRP recovery image on this phone yet? Every time I try to install twrp, it wont recognize my touches and sends the phone into a boot loop, forcing me to reflash CF autoroot. Any news I'm not aware of?
  3. Dear US Cellular users A member recently noticed me of the unjustice, the US990 version isn't that much supported over on xda forums. Some of you might know me from there, autorec, little kernel flasher, xposed installer or some other tool. It might also just be something other than tools. With great help from calaeb08 -----@TokenBlackGuy on this forumI present you AutoRec TWRP installer for US990 - lollipop. ----------------------------------------- What it does: -creates a backup of your bootloader, kernel, laf and recovery partition -downgrades bootloader to kitkat bootloader so we can use bump(for bump refer to google) -flashes bumped kernel, bumped TWRP 2.8.6.x(the version will change as soon there are updates) -it offers also restore (restores the previously backed up partitions) Instructions: -Although there is actually 1 (read: ONE) button, people repeatetly asked for how to, ok here it is: 1. install autorec from playstore 2. Start the app, it will ask for root, grant root to the app 3. Wait for it to pop up a messagebox with the information that it's ok to proceed(the app is initially preparing the files) 4. tap on the upper lollipop image (the arrow also points to it) 5. wait until it says that it's done. 6. it's done.. Q/A: -I'm not on stock rom, do I need/can I run AutoRec ? * Why ? If you're not on stock you probably have TWRP. -My device isn't on the supported list(or on playstore), what to do ? *PM me. I WILL ask you for your assistance and we will create your version together. -How do I enter TWRP ? When I try the hardware key mode it's on the white screen saying "Factory reset". * Yes..It's normal. Hold volume down + power. Wait for the LG logo, release the keys literally for an eye blink and hold the 2 keys together again(keep holding). A white reset screen will appear and you have to accept twice. Vol Keys are for navigating and power confirms. The other method is by using some reboot app like rebooter, quickboot or my reboot widget . Third method is by enabling usb debugging, downloading ADB, open cmd or console and type: "adb reboot recovery" Fourth is almost the same: download termina emulator from playstore, open up, type: "su", type: "reboot recovery" -I can't see my TWRP folder...where is it ? *Install terminal emulator from playstore and type: "su", then type: "restorecon -FR /data/media/0" If it shows any error then either you didn't type "su" first or you typed it wrong I will add a button to AutoRec for it so you don't have to type anything. -I've got a fastboot error, what to do ? *Either you flashed it on a refurbished device which is inside something different from what the model number reports or...something went wrong. PM me and I will provide an one click fix. Link Alternative link IT would be on playstore but I'm tired with google play store takes 2 hours to approve it or reject, lastly just rejections for using improper description, since I support most of the variants there are also very similiar descriptions and/or app names, so..sadly no playstore for now. If you like the app and would like to contribute to the further app development and support me, the project or the newly projects that WILL come, for example a phone unbricker which uses another phone connected via usb otg to unbrick the other (yeah..SF right ?) you can also donate - paypal: tr3x.jezgra@gmail.com , no donation is too small, no donation is too large. Nothing is mandatory of course, all my apps are free as always. On any questions refer to this thread or freely pm me, or send an email.
  4. I have found a couple tutorials on the web that will work for our model. First is to gain root. Follow this guide: http://www.droidviews.com/easily-root-lg-devices-using-the-one-click-root-script/ then for the custom recovery follow this guide: http://www.droidviews.com/root-lg-g-pad-7-v400-v410-and-install-twrp-recovery/(Be sure to use the v410 Recovery!) I used both and can confirm it worked on my device.
  5. I have my N6 on 5.1, rooted, TWRP installed, and I've been trying to flash leankernel and then a few roms but when I boot into recovery I am not able to get into my /sdcard folder. I was able to a few days ago and then it started boot looping so I reflashed stock and now it won't let me get back into /sdcard or /storage etc. Also when I plug it into my computer it shows it as an mp3 device and I have it set to MTP no Camera so I'm really confused and unsure about why this is happening. My old Galaxy S4 from Samsung wouldn't do this and Samsung is weird about this type of stuff. Any ideas to help and fix it? Thanks
  6. I found this POST on XDA, basically you you download a app called Flashify and flash the Recovery.img with the Flashify app. I used OUDHS Touch CWM-based Recovery 1.0.3.6 for my cwm and TWRP 2.6.3.2 Here are some QR Links if you prefer: Flashify: TWRP-Recovery.img: CWM-Recovery.img: ↓NOTE!↓ If your going to use CWM for your recovery you need to flash a super su zip file after booting into CWM to fix root permissions. 1. Download SuperSu CWM flashable zip: 2. Navigate recovery by using the volume keys and power to select 3. Choose install zip from sdcard, then pick internal or external (where you copied it to) 4. Scroll down to the Superuser.zip and select it to install 5. IF IT ASKS TO FIX ROOT CHOOSE NO 6. I believe flashing the superSu messes up the supersu app already installed on your phone, i just uninstalled the app and reinstalled it; most people will be flashing a rom so not a big deal. Once you are in Flashify select the "recovery image" option and point it to the recovery.img you downloaded. Then flash it Thanks eloyho for this really easy way to flash recoveries CWM credit go's too Shabbypenguin and the OUDHS
  7. UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER REQUIRED Here it is: TWRP 2.6.3.0 I've tested backing up / restore, wiping, and installing an old backup (from ver. 2.6.0.0) and all seem to work. I also included the flag "HAVE_SELINUX := true" so it should be compatible with the newer 4.3 based ROMs (needs tested). To install: Download and unzip file (forum will not allow "img") fastboot flash recovery XT901-XT907-TWRP-2.6.3.0-recovery.imgBUGS: I have had the screen start very dim. Sometimes restarting the recovery would fix it, otherwise go to settings / screen, and set the timeout short so it goes out. Press power to turn on and it is at full brightness. Enjoy!! XT901-XT907-TWRP-2.6.3.0-recovery.img.zip
  8. First off, please thank TeamWin and Dees_Troy from TeamWin for providing this!! Show Dees_Troy some love by thanking him: @Dees_Troy TeamWin's site is located here: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2 Now, I put the recovery image in a flashable zip, so this is flashable from ClockworkMod Recovery. I'll also provide the .img file for those (like myself ) who want to flash it using adb. Instructions for .img file using adb commands: Download Link to recovery.img file: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/121 1. With the phone booted normally, connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable. 2. Download the recovery.img file, and place it on the root of your internal /sdcard. This location is NOT negotiable, unless you want to change the command to point to the location you put the file. It should be at: /sdcard/recovery.img 3. Open a command prompt window, and change directory to where you keep adb at (it is in the Android SDK - Platform-Tools directory). 4. Now type in the following (thank you dtmetz for the post where this was taken)(NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU GET THE COMMANDS EXACTLY CORRECT! I RECOMMEND COPY/PASTING THE COMMAND FROM HERE DIRECTLY INTO YOUR COMMAND PROMPT WINDOW!!!): shell@android:/ $ sushell@android:/ # dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1820480+0 records in20480+0 records out10485760 bytes transferred in 2.408 secs (4354551 bytes/sec)shell@android :/sdcard # reboot recovery5. The phone will now reboot into TWRP 2.6.0.0 Recovery. There is also a .tar file for those that prefer using ODIN to flash a custom recovery. I've also made a flashable zip for those wanting to flash via recovery. NOTE: I have not personally tested it but it should work just fine. As always, flash at your own risk. FLASHABLE_TWRP_d2usc.zip
  9. I've been getting status 7 errors when using CWM. I understand how to remove the assert section out of the script and make it install. This is annoying to have to do this with every update of my rom. I switched to TWRP to see if that would help, same issues. Anyone have a more permanent fix? Maybe i'm missing a setting or something. I would like to use goo.im for download roms updated on my phone but can't since i have to edit each one and re-zip it.
