This is how i rooted my Galaxy S Aviator SCH-R930

First Off all thanks goes to imnuts who did this

Donation Link https://www.paypal.c...415cf1b2a661693

Things needed will be :

Odin 3

Adb (google how to install adb)

Aviator

Download this file for use in ODIN. http://dl.dropbox.co...or_root.tar.md5 ()

Next you will need to download su binary here http://downloads.and...fghi-signed.zip

Place the first downloaded file in Odin in PDA section

Unzip binary and place in adb folder (probably platform-tools)

In adb do as follows

adb shell

mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl10 /system

adb push su /system/bin/

exit

adb shell

chown 0:0 /system/bin/su

chmod 6755 /system/bin/su

ln -s /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su

you will get an error after the last one saying file already exsists

after you have done this install superuser from market.

In superuser preferences look at su binary. Tap it and update binary.

You should now be rooted

Easier Method

Do all steps in odin i.e. download file flash with odin 3

Download superoneclick

Follow instructions

I must say this phone is totally different now. It is very responsive and smooth. I debloated it with titanium backup. Changed minfree settings. Changed build .prop all values sch r930 to sch i500. Overclocked with tegrak overclock. And of course Adfree.

Please someone host the odin file. Thanks a bunch

the drop box link to the .md5 file isn't working, I get a 404 file not found error when clicking on it.

Use the mirror next to it. Sorry, put the link in wrong spot the first time

VIthe3rd got root by doing super one click after all these steps. I can't confirm but I think all would need to be done is install odin file then super one click.

To change build.prop I used build.prop editor by joeykrim. Found in playstore. I of course backed up original with that app and then changed all instances of SCH-R930 to SCH-I500. After that I downloaded tegrak overclock.

By all means do sir. As far as roms go clockwork recovery is what we need next. I will get in touch with imnuts and see what he can do. JT1134 is great on these devices as well.

I posted a guide up on Android Forums with the SuperOneClick method since i know there are a few people without Root on there i put a caption in it saying if it works to post in the thread. If it doesn't work i put a link back to this thread. So hopefully we will see if that way works easier.

got the overclock set up, I set mine for 1.2, just curious what anyone else is overclocking there's at comfortably, definitely a huge difference running the phone with just these couple tweaks and no bloat so far.

I have overclocked the hummingbird to 1.6 afew times but 1.2 is really good for daily driver 1.3 is good with overvolting to 1300 or so

1.3 seems to run well, will probably try 1.5 after I can buy the full version of tegrak since the free one only overclocks up to 1.3
