How To Use Boot Animations:

  • Place the .zip on the root of your SD card
  • Use RootExplorer (or any alternative) to move the .zip to /system/media/ (or wherever it belongs on your device)
  • Delete or rename your original bootanimation.zip to anything you will remember (ie: 1bootanimation.zip)
  • Rename the boot animation you downloaded to bootanimation.zip
  • ‚ÄčMake sure permissions are set to the same as the original bootanimation.zip (thanks to WillFeltner)
  • Reboot and enjoy!

Can I request a custom one? Perhaps offer a donation in return? Eh? Eh? Lol.

Seriously tho. I want one.

Is there a different format of the boots from the Mez? If not, then I have a few ie. Andy shocking apple till it disintegrates, particle android etc. + the sound .ogg & .wav files to attatch.

They're the same format. As far as boot sounds I'm not sure where it goes on ICS or I could add all kinds of cool boot audios. Also been kicking around an idea for a down animation.

How about a 10-15 second intro from a song? Hmm...

The ROM on my Mez has "Back In Black" by AC/DC playing as it boots. I used to love that song before my Mez decided to auto reboot every 10 freakin' seconds. But yeah, we can make whatever you want. Maybe we can work together on this project using GTalk or something. I'd really like to start making boot animations that get included in ROM packages.

Rom toolbox light has a bunch of boot animations and is free on the market.

It replaces the animation zip for you just point it to proper location download or just find one u like and click install. Needs root but some options are not for are phone so be warned. Has a good app start up blocker ad blocker etc for paid version but kernel editing is limited and risky.
