*Insert standard disclaimer here*
Not my fault if you brick your phone, bla bla bla.

Anyway, yes it does work, no I haven't fully tested it yet, so I'm not totally sure how bad it might mess the phone up.
Anything should be fixable, as long as the bootloaders are untouched (that's where "download mode" lives).

The recovery has root access (as it should), so rooting a completely stock phone should be a lot easier now... I might look into making a flashable zip with root stuff in it, unless someone else wants to tackle that.

EDIT:
Don't use the one above, it has too many issues.
This touch recovery is safe:

Just tried doing a backup and it corrupted the recovery... Weird.

Needs work obviously.

Good job!  At least you got it booting, that's the first step.  I've tried but I couldn't even get this far.

EDIT:  I'm wondering if the recovery from the Galaxy Victory 4G LTE will give us any clues since it's mostly identical specs wise.  There are actually quite a few devices that use the MSM8960 Lite.  Maybe looking into the recoveries for those devices will help figure this out.

I'll check that out, would be a better bet than most that I've looked into.

Here's a touch recovery that should be safe, it let me do a backup at least, haven't tried a restore though.

For some reason that screen shifts around when selecting menu items... But other than that, it seems ok, a little weird, but ok.

Well, you would be correct, the victory is about 95% compatible with our phone.

I flashed a cwm I found for it and it does boot and i can move menu items, but cant select them (hard buttons dont work).

I used it to update su and the SuperUser app, not that they needed to be done via recovery, but as a test it worked... So it's working.

I've also done a backup that seems to complete, though I haven't tried to restore one yet (haven't needed to).

Where are we at on this, little confused on which one is working and which one is messing up?
