I do not have a great deal of experience but I do have some experience with java, and building from source and I am fairly versed in researching. If any of this will help you I am here.:D

My primary focus is making cwm work. and increasing ram via swam files. Can you think of anything else you think should be focused on?

I emailed the CWM team a couple days ago, and never got a email back. I don't know why they aren't responding. EDIT: I just found out recovery mode. Its just like the S3, Volume up + Home + Power. So If I can get an email back, we should be able to get the ball rolling.

Also, I emailed about a NANDroid back up, he said he would make us one if we could supply him with a partition layout. Can anyone get that for me? I wouldn't know how.

Well i guess that calls for a new rom, maybe a port from the charge. Or try to get a cyanogen mod for our phones. We need to first get a cwm.

Thanks! If we can get CWM and Nandroid, it should open up the gates for some more ROM's. Let me know if you need anything from my phone specifically, I'm more than willing to help.

Does this phone even have partitions? I have learned that 'most' android devices do not have partitions but also with Samsung using initramfs I think the partition is actually a ramdisk is that correct?

I am in the process of researching this but if I'm not mistaken I believe we will have to use the sdcard as our partitioning device since this phone only has memory locations for boot and no actual disk. We would need to boot from the sdcard?

Ran into a problem, i need the partiton layouts for recovery and boot. But they aren't in the partition table because they aren't in that folder. Any advice?

If anyone needs the extracted ROM for this phone, and this is the original FD04 ROM from this site, it is located on the download page. If you have any problems downloading this file please let me know.

props to RyanZA for the extraction code at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069868

mount.txt this is a little different from the partition listed earlier I used adb mount command to extract this. still no mention of boot here but in my file manager in /res/revovery.fstab file it lists it and is attached as a txt file below.

recoveryfstab.txt

Also working on pulling some other files that may be of help from my phone. I am also trying to figure out how we can unlock the initramfs bootloader so we can re-flash it when the time comes.
