I received the  letter in the mail saying that US Cellular in the Chicago Market sold to Sprint. I really do not want to use Sprint and i dont want to have to buy another phone.

Is there a way to use the US Cellular S3 on the T-Mobile network.? I know that the US Cell network is CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM. I also see the the S3 has a sim card slot.

According to this XDA thread it can be done.  http://forum.xda-dev....php?t=2036915

Has anyone else done this?

The USC S3 SIM slot is for LTE, and if it is possible, the best you'll be pulling is 2g (according to the link in Post #8 in your link:  http://forum.xda-dev...hlight=t-mobile) EDGE.

You'd have to follow the instructions (minus flashing Verizon's factory S3 image, use USC's instead) and see what happens.

EDIT:  There's USC people in the thread I linked you to that are still asking for help to get it working, and have tried the steps without success.

****UPDATE****

Yeah, you can now unlock it - you have to call USCC and request it, meet their criteria, and youll get it unlocked.
