A patch with a fix for the voice quality issue is being piloted to a few customers to ensure it works before wide rollout.

I don't have specific patch details except it has software fixes for bugs and a fix for the USCC Moto X showing Verizon branding during auto-activation.

Fixes camera and I still have root with the original root app. THIS IS W/O WRITE PROTECTION DISABLED. nonetheless still have basic root for greenify and underclock,/io scheduling apps.

 Enhancements to the following experiences

 Active Notifications

 Touch less Controls

 Motorola Assist

 

 The following Motorola Experiences would be upgradeable via Google Play

 Touch Less Controls

 Motorola Assist

 

 Calling (Improved Voice Quality)  Addressed issue that sometimes resulted in choppy audio being heard by the person you are talking to using your Moto X

I got the update when rooted. Flashed back to stock recovery now I can't get it. Sucks

Maybe you should unlock your bootloader. ;) Install a custom recovery. Then rooting and updates would be the least of your worries. ;)

When I don't have to use the official unlock I will. Don't feel like voiding the warranty just yet.

Are you part of the soak group or is it trickling out to the commoners as well? And I haven't seen much input on this update from anyone in this topic. Is there any issues that might be reason to hold off updating?

I'm no newbie or God. I just think the moto folks are ridiculous because they buy phones with locked bootloaders yet expect to be able to mod and unlock. It's hilarious. Just officially unlock it or buy a different brand.
