Android lollipop coming to moto x

Recommended Posts

Hey folks, I'm still looking for if anyone has an official sbf file for 5.1. It'd be nice to have on hand if needed. US Cell site still says it's on 4.4.2. Moto firmware doesn't have anything either.

Didn't know if any of our employees here have access to anything?

I haven't downloaded this myself.

Note: Give your download 6 or more hours to complete, as this site has a speed cap 50k/sec, unless of course you have a paid account.

That link errors out for me.

Both those links are no good. File not available

My bad. Links usually work from there. In fact, I just downloaded the XT1093 5.1 firmware from that site.  I'm not sure why the file is missing.

According to Motorola's new software update policy, you should just be happy with what you got and buy a new phone from them.

Maybe these files will work.  I trust grad's discretion.  I also gave my OG Moto X to my best friend after he ended up phoneless because he smashed multiple iPhones into trees and brick walls, and now he's done the same to mine.  I'd love to give 'em a go, but my Moto X is in several pieces.

I tried out (flashed) the two XDA links this morning. Both worked fine.

Yea, I've been running the one from XDA for awhile. I was hoping to find the official files, just incase I needed to start fresh to sell or whatever.

My wife is at 5.1 and has an update getting pushed to her yesterday. We haven't updated because of her battery yet. I wonder if this is the stagefright update? US Cellular XT-1055

My wife has one as well, and says no size is given. I'm betting it's Stagefright.

It's a shame the 2013 Moto X isn't getting Marshmallow. I just put it on her tablet (Nexus 7, 2013) and it really isn't much different. Couple UI changes here and there. I'm still on 5.0.2 myself (HTC One M8) and I ain't even jealous. M was originally going to be 5.2, but the negative hype around 5.x caused them to bump it. But really, that Doze feature is more hype than anything. I'm not seeing a big improvement in battery life on the tablet, but any improvement is welcome.

Where can I get a stock recovery image to flash over TWRP so I can apply the 222.26.8 update?

Out of the stock files
