I downloaded the file and extracted the recovery.img.  I submitted it to chainfire on the XDA thread for auto-root.  Big thanks to WoundTight for this!  Hopefully, we'll get a custom recovery soon, but until then we can use auto-root once it's done.

Does SamMobile have it up?

Yes, I just went and checked.  I didn't even know about that site.

Wow... The Note 4s UI isn't PNGs like every other phone (any phone, not just Samsung) they're all qmg files, or Samsung proprietary files that are "video" animated.

So they're not still images or icons - they're all animated...

Very weird.

I was just reading on XDA that Sprint users have been successfully using the T-Mobile CF-Autoroot to root their Note 4s. Since mostly everything Sprint works for our phones, does that mean the T-Mobile could also work for us? I'm not going to try, but I'm curious.

Yeah, I asked the same thing, too scared to try.  I did submit the recovery.img to chainfire, so hopefully we'll have an official auto-root soon.

Bottom line is we need a custom recovery. I'm not interested in different roms (which I know there are none yet) I just want to get rid of the bloat and restore my TB stuff.

That's all I ever consider "priority #1" after getting a new phone.

That bloat has GOT to go. It's absolutely shocking how many BS apps are one these things out of the box.

Should be illegal for 102 (S5) unnecessary apps that the carrier or manufacturer put there to be on it without it being possible to remove it without root.

Straight up moronic. I don't want it, don't need it, won't ever use it, want it gone, but...alas...its baked in.

The one that blew my mind was Instagram. This is the first time I've seen it as a system app on one of my phones. I knew it was sold, but Facebook bought it. I could understand if Google owned it.

Also, I just looked on chainfire's site and the baseband version for the T-Mobile CF-Autoroot is the same as ours "ANIH".

Is the upload site down? My internet at home is working fine, but the NJ7 file won't download.

Disregard. It was on my end apparently.
