Swype locks up messaging

Question

I have a 16GB iPhone 5s with 2 GB free memory. Swype is my preferred keyboard.  The problem is that after a few uses of Swype (while texting), the messaging app locks up.  Seems to be triggered at times by receiving a new text message. When I purchased the phone new, last spring, the problem existed then as well. Is this a known issue?  Could it be related to low available memory? Would rooting be likely to help? Thanks, appreciate your thoughts.

(Just fyi)

There is no such thing as root for an Apple product.

You can jailbreak it (like side loading apps) but you never gain SU permission with Apple.

Rooting and Jailbreaking are on very different levels.

But I doubt a jailbreak would help at all, if anything though they do add features, they generally make the entire system less stable.

If you have very low internal memory that COULD cause issues.

knowing what issues it would cause isn't really possible since it could cause all kinds of unpredictable little bugs and hiccups - they start to act very strange when theyre low on memory.
