Well I'm not keeping us cellular service so I'm tossing that Sim out. I'm past tired of how they've treated me.

Well, I got my invite today.

I'm not really interested in the program anymore so if there is a way for me to let someone else use my invite I would let it go (for free I'm not some flipper piece of crap).

If it comes down to it and I don't get an invite by my trip I would work with you to test it out for science if no one else does.

Has anyone in Iowa received an invite? I requested access the first day but it wasn't in our area (Iowa City) so I'm wondering where the lucky ones actually are located.

Like I've said, if there is a way to give some one my invite. It's up for grabs. I just need to find a way to untie it from my email account.

I would still be down to test it. If I can hot swap sims that'd be baller. I have 10GB through cricket on the way, so I would be absolutely willing to compare.

It looks to be possible

If you have a Google Account you could PM me the details for (maybe make a new one). We could give this a shot.

Roll the dice zenz! You can make the second one a duplicate anyway.

Heck I'll take it when you're done of I don't get mine. I imagine that once you have the sim you can sell it or someone else can use it

Officially, this is a hugeeeeee no no from what I've found over at r/ProjectFi. But of course I'd be willing to let a few of us use it. I could get 4gb data through TMO or Sprint, AND wifi calling. That'd be baller as all get out.

I was wrong it is tied to my account. I tried making a new email and switching to it but it just prompts me to request an invite when I switch accounts.

LAME.

I think you need to contact them directly. If you are willing, you could do that and switch it to another new email.

Claudine S 9:50 AM
Hey there! Thanks for contacting Project Fi Support! My name is Claudine, and I'll be helping you today!
me 9:50 AM
Hello! How are you today?
Claudine S 9:52 AM
I'm good! Thanks for asking.
How about yourself.
me 9:52 AM
I have a few questions about the Fi invite once I get it, or if someone else gets it.
I am wonderful thank you.
Is it possible to transfer an invite to another personal account if said person got it on their main account and did not want to activate it?
Claudine S 9:53 AM
Great! To hear.
me 9:53 AM
So long as they owned both accounts.
Claudine S 9:55 AM
Currently, at this time your invite is tied to only your email account.
which enable the use of someone else using the invite.
me 9:56 AM
Right I understand that. I was just curious because If I wanted to test it and not activate it on my mail Gmail I wanted to use a second account I own.
Claudine S 9:59 AM
You can test on another Gmail.
You will need to request another invite .
For the new email.
me 10:00 AM
That invite is not guaranteed ever though, which is my concern. It could take weeks, even months for that to come. I requested an invited on April 23rd and I have not gotten any response yet. I can't even imagine how long it would take to wait for a second invited on a secondary account made today.
Claudine S 10:02 AM
We appreciate your patience.
You will receive an response by mid-summer as we’re targeting late July to early August. Please don't forget to check your spam inbox.
me 10:03 AM
I have been keeping all of my inbox folders up to date. I have checked daily for the past few weeks as well.
Claudine S 10:05 AM
You can chack the status of your invite https://fi.google.com/about/here.
Click on request invite.
me 10:06 AM
It has been on the "look out for an invite" status since day one. '
Claudine S 10:08 AM
I'm sorry, I can't provide more information pertaining your invite request.
Is there anything else I can help you with today?
me 10:08 AM
So to sum up our chat, it is not possible to transfer the invite to a second gmail account that is owned my me (or whoever has an invite)?
Claudine S 10:09 AM
That is correct. You cannot transfer your invite.
me 10:09 AM
Alright. I have read elsewhere that someone has a chat log from Google directly that this is possible.
Claudine S 10:13 AM
Maybe I'm confused. You want to be able to transfer your invite to someone else Gmail account? Vice versa. Whoever get's the invite first. Correct?
me 10:13 AM
Yes and no, I want to transfer the email to a second email I personally already own. Not to someone else's gmail.
Not someone else, I want to transfer it to a second email I own personally.
Claudine S 10:15 AM
You have the ability to switch your email address at the time of activation.
me 10:16 AM
How does one go about doing that? I was attempting to help my friend (who has an invite) do it and when he selected the second account it told him he needed to request a new invite.
Claudine S 10:19 AM
The process has to be done in the beginning, There's a option that ask if you want to switch email address.
If issues are occurring you will need to have them call in for assistance.
me 10:19 AM
How long will that process take (best guess is okay?)

Basically, you'll need to call in and have them help you. It IS possible to do, if it's a second account you own. Not if it's not your own account.

trameathia Yep, just making sure I don't give out false info I didn't know you could transfer an invite, we all thought they were tied to the account
christopher-m-7980 Up until recently I thought the same. It is actually a pretty new development.
trameathia Is it easy to do? do you guys have a guide or step by step instructions that I could post in the sub reddit we have had a couple people get invites that have no plans on using them
christopher-m-7980 No, it isn't part of of the norm. It would have to be taken care of by support. I certainly understand that.
trameathia Well could you tell me what information they would need to provide you with That way I can let me know what they would need to get from each other before hand
christopher-m-7980 I couldn't really at this time. That is something they would be told while engaging in the transfer.

If I understand correctly, yes. You just need to tell them it's an account you personally own. Not just any account but one that you own yourself. The chat rep gave me a tough time until I said it was another account that I *personally* owned.

Email I just got from their support:

Hi Jared,

Thank you for contacting Project Fi Support! It was great chatting with you today. We're really excited that you're interested in trying our service! Keep an eye on your inbox. We're sending a small number of Project Fi invites each week, but rest assured that you're on our list. You'll get your invitation in the coming weeks, and we hope to make that happen sooner rather than later. By logging back into the Project Fi website and clicking Request invite you'll be able to check your status.

You also had questions about switching your invite to a different email, as advised in our chat you have the ability to switch your email address at the time of activation. This process has to be done in the beginning. It can't take place after your account has been activated.

I can understand the anticipation, continue to check for updates. The good news is that you're almost there, and you will receive a response by mid-summer as we’re targeting late July to early August. Please don't forget to check your spam inbox.

Thanks!
Claudine,
The Project Fi Support Team

More info on the Invite system:

https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JosephCappellino/posts/CidH1YNeu8c?cfem=1

Spoiler has the content if you don't want to go to G+.

Transfer Invite (Update)

I just got off the phone with Project Fi Support (844-TALK2FI, 844-825-5234). I spoke with Reginald (really nice guy), and below is the gist of the conversation:

- There are not currently allowing transfers (boo!).
- They've heard the users and are investigating a transfer system (yay!).
- If you go to https://fi.google.com/signup, you will see a badge at the top letting you know if your invite has been queued for the next two weeks (yay!).
- All invites are projected to be distributed by the end of the summer (woo-hoo!).
- Invites have no expiration date (yay!). This means that you don't have to start now, but can initiate it when the service supports more hardware/features, or wait until the transfer system has been setup.
Joseph Cappellino (Tithefug) originally shared to Project Fi (Discussion):

Transfer Invite

I received my invite today, but it turns out that I won't be able to take advantage of Project Fi right now.

Is there a way to transfer the invite to someone else? I didn't immediately see a way to do it (except for "adding an account"). If so, I'll put it out here in the Community via some sort of lottery (for free).

Thanks in advance.

I have no "badge" nor have I seen anyone that does yet. Hopefully that's good?
