Google Assistant, vehicle says "Pixel XL" via BT

Recommended Posts

When I use Bluetooth to connect my phone to my car, the display would read "Nexus 6 connected." However, after installing Google Assistant it displays "Pixel XL." Also, in About Phone Pixel XL is listed. Strange.

What make/model?

My F150 (2015) says Nexus 6P on the screen when it's connected, I don't have the assistant.

You must not be on a stock rom, are you?

All the info I've seen on getting Google Assistant to work on the 6 involves changing the build prop to Pixel XL to get it to work. So if that's the case it will say that on the info screen and anything it connects to.

I have a Nexus 6 by Motorola. Running Android 7.0 rooted.

But is it a rom, or is it stock and you changed the build prop?

The assistant doesn't come on any phone on 7.0, only 7.1 - the Pixel - without being modified.

That's why your vehicle says that - because you (or whoever made the rom) changed the build prop to say that.

Edited title.
